It was discovered in the exploration of our creativity, from the creativity perspective, the root of many addictions and illnesses we face lies in an experience where we are denied the freedom to live the truth of our being and free expression of our creative spirit and, for whatever reason, we cannot physically escape the situation. However, physically escaping the situation does not necessarily allow us to become free of the addiction or illness. There are internal issues we must face as to why we created the experience in the first place and/or why we created particular response patterns in response to the experience. If we do not address these internal issues, our addiction or illness will return at a later time in one form or another, in one way or other. It was found the key to breaking these patterns and addressing the root issue of our addiction and/or illness is to learn to hold our creativity sacred.

The primary issue of many addictions and illnesses (Top)

We are an infinite creative being with an unlimited creativity and a free will to create what we desire. But we also have a mind which biases what we experienced and thinks based on what we think and believe and the experiences we have had. we create our experiences by how we focus our attention and awareness. The focus of our attention and awareness is determined by how and what we believe and the experiences we have had.

For whatever reason we may have, we created or elected to participate in the physical experience of being a human being that we currently have. As such, we have an intention for our life and for particular types and kinds of experiences we incarnated to have. We have these experiences and fulfill the intention for our life when our creative spirit/creative life energy is free to unfold our truth and we live true to our truth in a safe and secure space. When our creative spirit/creative life energy is free to unfold we create a life where the gift we have to give becomes the fruit of that life. It is not necessary for us to do anything to give the gift. Rather, the gift is more of the byproduct of living a life based on our unique truth.

We are drawn to have these experiences which fulfill the intention for our life through what we feel. In particular they are fulfilled by the feeling which: is experienced as an expansion of our life/being; that which give us life; being in a state of wonderment and "ah;" provides a fullness of being; is experienced as a freedom within our being; provides a passion for life; provides a passion to engage life; is experience as a blossoming or flowering within or of our being and/or is experienced as an inner satisfaction which never runs dry no matter what is happening in the external world. However, we need to be open to what we feel to be able to discern the feelings which allow for the free unfoldment of our creative spirit/creative life energy. We need to be open to what we feel to use our feelings as an internal compass, to know what serves us, to access the awareness which lies in feeling and to use the awareness which lies in the body.

The primary issue in life (Top): Relative to our creative ability and creative power, the primary issue we face in life is when our creative play and the free expression of our creative spirit/creative life energy is thwarted in any way for any reason, we will feel a discomfort or pain of some type and some kind at some level of our being. As such, the natural response as a human being is to move, without really thinking about how we move, to protect ourselves with the mind that we have so as to not experience the pain or discomfort again. There are four ways we can go about responding to the pain/discomfort we feel.

The first way we respond to the pain/discomfort when the free expression of our creativity is thwarted is fear and/or placing our creative spirit in a cage of our own making. It is the way most commonly developed as a child and is normally a somewhat childish response. It needs to be understood, early in life all we have at this time in our life is the mind of a child to develop our response. Here our typical response is we learn to run away from what causes the pain/discomfort in life so as to avoid experiencing the types and kinds of situations which give rise to our pain and discomfort. Or, we put our creative spirit behind some type and kind of defensive barrier to it but it ends up being a cage of our own making. Here we develop fears around those situations which give rise to pain and begin to live our life in fear. Here we move through life in a way that does not hold our creativity sacred and serve us an what we desire to create in the long run. We may find temporary relief but we are not served in the long run for we give our creative power away to the fears we have and the response patterns we develop.

Our problem is we carry these fears and response patterns through our entire life. To change them to something which better serves our creativity and creative spirit we need to go back to their cause and occasions which gave first to fear/response pattern. In doing so, we need to face the pain and discomfort in a new way and a way which better serves us. However, because the fear and response patterns develop so early in life, we do not always have clear memories of exactly what the issue was that we faced. Often all we have is the feeling of the experience imprinted in our being and our body and we have to use the our feelings to guide us. To do this we need to be open to feeling and learn to use the awareness which lies in feeling and the awareness which lies in the body. This is, of course, difficult for we need to face the pain which caused us to shut down our ability to feel which we need to get at the memories.

The second way we respond to the pain/discomfort when the free expression of our creativity is thwarted is to find some pleasurable or even neutral activity which numbs or suppresses the pain. Thinking and residing in our mind is one of the more common neutral activities many do to avoid the pain/discomfort they feel. Here we develop a thinking addiction without realize it. Drug, sex, alcohol, smoking, food, and the like are the more pleasurable activities that have been used to numb and/or suppress the pain/discomfort. These activities can lead to more damaging addictions. A thinking addiction keeps us away from what we feel and can make us cold and without compassion but these other addiction can actually lead to the destruction of the body and/or our life.

The third way we respond to the pain/discomfort when the free expression of our creativity is thwarted is that we simply suppress what we feel in a particular way. Here we "bottle" the energy rather than attempt to numb it. However, without out some way or processing and dissipating the energy it will emerge as frustration, anger and/or some type and kind of accident, illness or disease.

How the energy is release would be through the weakest point in our being or our place of vulnerability. If one is permitted to become angry, mad and the like, often this energy is simply vented as an anger. When the anger is released, more often than not, the situation which seems to cause the release of the anger is really the occasion and not the cause. In this situation, looking at the situation we face to find the root of our anger will not lead us to the cause. We must pull the string and dig deeper as to what is really giving rise to our anger. Ultimately, the true cause of the anger is all the denied and bottled up energy blocked in denying the free expression of our creative spirit/creative life energy.

An alternative to anger, if we are permitted, is to cry. Often an situation is experienced and we just cry uncontrollably and we have no idea as to why we are crying. Here again, the situation which seem to be the cause of crying is really only the occasion for its release of the energy. Again, looking to the situation as to the cause of our cry will not address the real cause.

If we are unable vent the energy as in anger or crying the energy is often released in some kind of undesired body condition - an accident, illness or disease. In this case, there may be a physical situation or cause to which we can point and say is the cause of the body condition and what we are feeling in the body. However, the body condition is only the occasion for the release of the energy and again, the occasion for the release of the energy may be diverting our attention form the real cause of the undesired body condition. The root cause of what we face resides in how the creative spirit/creative life energy is unable to freely flow and dissipate. Here again, although the bottled up energy may be released in the accident, illness or disease we face, the cause will lie dormant until we face another experience in life that will reenergized the root cause in some way.

This last statement is important to understand. Often when we have accident, illness or disease, especially if they are serious, we change our life in some way. It may be a small way, but there are things we do a little different because of what we have faced. Or, the accident, illness and/or disease shifts us into a different pattern. Simply missing a few days from work may cause us to be moved from one job assignment to another and we are diverted from a pattern that was being developed that was not serving us. These seemingly simply changes may be significant enough so as to not reenergize the patterns which gave rise to the accident, illness or disease. But, when we move back into a similar pattern, we are again faced with a similar or different accident, illness or disease arising from that pattern.

Another aspect of creating an accident, illness or disease in response to not being able to live our truth is that often having an accident, illness or disease is the only acceptable reason we can give other people to not perform the way they want us to perform or withdrawing from a situation. Consequently, getting certain physical conditions provides a way to withdraw to a more protected space. Although having the ability to withdraw from a situation as a result of an accident, illness or disease may not serve the free expression of our creative spirit, it can allow our creative spirit to be in a space that does not further harm and thwart our creativity .

The fourth way we can respond to the pain/discomfort when the free expression of our creativity is thwarted is in awareness. Here we are aware of how the free expression of our creative spirit/creative life energy is being thwarted. If we are aware, we can create a response that both protects our creative spirit but have also retain the free expression of our creative spirit. That is, we don’t place our creative spirit in a cage of our own making thinking we are protect it. Or, if we are not aware, we are aware enough to pull the string on the pain we experience and explore the pain as to what is giving rise to the pain we feel to get at the root cause.

If we are going to be aware, we need to be open to feeling and be willing to feel the pain/discomfort we experience so as to follow it back to its source. For most, to use this fourth method, they will have to open themselves to what they feel and deal with many of the reasons and response patterns they have developed in life to numb or suppress what they feel. Here one is often faced with opening old wounds of the past to (1) see how exactly how and why we developed the response pattern we have and (2) to develop a response pattern that protects our creative spirit and the free flow of our creative life energy that enables us to follow the pain/discomfort back to its source. Here we look to develop a response pattern that allows us to both face what is experienced yet holds our creativity sacred so as to not deny the free expression of our creative spirit/creative life energy. We may choose to not freely respond because of the situation yet we do not suppress or deny what we feel. In this case, we often will endure the pain until the situation changes yet always looking for that opportunity to break free constructively in a way that ultimate serves us and what we desire to create.

The primary issue we face relative to many addictions and illnesses (Top): The primary issue we face relative to many addictions and illnesses is that for whatever reason we may have we are not free to leave the situation that is thwarting our creative spirit. Without awareness, the natural response is to withdrawn from pain. The unnatural response is to suppress, numb or otherwise to continue to endure the cause of the pain yet not remove ourselves from the pain or its cause. With awareness, the natural response is to pull the string as to the cause of our pain and recreate the situation and/or recreate ourselves eliminating the cause of the pain.

As a human being in Physical Creation, as a result of how Creation and Physical Creation works, we are not always free to leave the situation which is thwarting our creativity. There are two reason for this. The first reason is that Creation is not done alone. There will always be the need of another to give us the experiences we desire to have. The second reason is that to experience Physical Creation as a human being, we need to have a human body to have that experience. The needs of the body as the vehicle for the experience we desire to have ties us to certain types and kinds of experiences. There may be a wide variation in what the experience looks and feels like yet, nevertheless, there are specific experiences we need to have that are inescapable.

To experience any creation/Creation, we need to focus our attention and awareness by how and what we think and believe in such a way as to bind our creative life energy to give us the experience we desire to have. This is inherent to the creation process. As we experience the creation/Creation we desire to experience, we often feel as to though we are a victim and unable to escape what we experience. We feel trapped or confined in a situation that is beyond our control and there are individuals in our life who only seem to contribute to our captivity and thwarting the free expression of our creative spirit. Feeling captive and/or the thwarting of our creative spirit create a level of discomfort, dissatisfaction if not outright pain within our being. We are then lead to respond to that pain. If we are unaware and cannot respond in awareness, and cannot withdraw from the situation for whatever reason we may have, we are left with two options. One is to create some type and kind of addictive behavior and the other is to create some type and kind of accident, illness or disease. In this regard, we all probably have one or more addictive patterns, including a thinking addiction, to one degree or another and/or we all create accidents, illnesses and diseases in our life because we cannot escape the situation we face.

An example of this issue is probably best described in the view expressed in some programs for recovering addicts which involve the belief that one never heals or cure an addiction. Rather the addict is always recovering. The reason for this belief that the addict is always recovering is the individual who develops an addiction lives in a world where they are denied the opportunity to fully and freely express their creative spirit. In the free expression of the creative spirit being thwarted there is pain and the individual is lead to numb or suppress the pain trough the some type and kind of action that leads to an addiction. In recovery through whatever means used, the individual find some degree of freedom to express the truth of their being and free their creative spirit to some degree. However, the individual goes back into the world that caused their addiction. Hence the individual stands between two worlds and they begin a dance between the world that is denying them the freedom to live their truth and a recovery methodology and techniques which allows them to express their truth in some way to some degree. As a result, the individual never fully leaves the world causing their addiction such that they always seem to be recovering. To cure or heal the root cause of the addition, the individual would need to recreate both themselves and their life such that those aspects giving rise to the root cause are eliminated. The question become whether or not the individual and the healers/counselors to whom they turn for guidance has a perspective of Creation and what it means to be a human being in Physical Creation that permits the elimination of the root cause.

Here lies an interesting issue for many beliefs systems. Many mystics say that we are an infinitely creative being and there is a oneness of all Creation such that we are never separate from oneness. Many of the mystical experiences individuals seek are an experience of this infinity of our being or the oneness of Creation in one way or another. Yet, many spiritual/religious traditions, including those of the mystics who experience the infinity of being and oneness of Creation or have techniques for such an experience, say that a human being is somehow incomplete, inadequate, separate from the Creator and/or the Source, living in sin, or some other way of stating the human being is less that this infinite creative being and somehow separate from the oneness of Creation. Such beliefs only increase the separation within ones’ being and the likelihood of creating addiction or illness.

Creating an illness works similar to an addiction. The individual is not free to live their truth. In creating an illness, they now have a tool that gives them some control over their life. That is, they need to do what they need to do as directed by the healers to heal their illness. That gives them an element of power over their world which has been, or is, pushing them to deny the free expression of their creative spirit. However, since they are not free to leave the world which gave rise to their illness, they seemingly never recover from that illness or have some other illness arise to take it place.

A sample experience of the primary issue (Top)

The following statement is representative of the kind of experience an individual experiences when they are in a situation where their creative spirit is not free to unfold and they are unable to physically escape the situation they face. Since we each are a unique being what we or another would experience would be different but the underlying issues are nevertheless the same.

As background for this discussion, the individual deals what a case of psoriasis. Their condition tend to flair up whenever they are faced with a situation where they are being asked, coerced or blatantly force to deny the truth of their being. Also, as a result of life circumstances they cannot readily leave their mother and sister, so they are seemly captured by their situation.

"I have noticed that I am not completely myself and free when I am around my mother and my older sister. I feel my heart being squeezed, I feel tired when I am around my mother, I get itchy thinking about this. My heart feels heavy. I am starting to feel itchy all over my body. I keep asking my heart what it is that I need to do but I don't get any kind of answer. I am always scared to be myself around them, I feel guilty most of the times. My mother always tells me what to do and not to do, she whines about every little thing that goes wrong. I am not very comfortable around her. She always tells me what to eat and what not to eat and when I choose to eat certain food like sweets or even a yogurt she will whine and get angry and say hurtful things, it really makes me feel bad. ( The itchiness doesn't stop. )

I also want to tell you that I was getting better for a while and recently I have gotten worse in the pain and itchiness of psoriasis. I was wondering if this could be that I am becoming more aware of things and actually thinking and feeling things as well. Sometimes I get severe itchiness where it does not stop and I bleed afterwards, at those times I think about what is happening and I feel that I am not able to be my full self and it is usually when I am with my sister or mother or when I talk about someone I don't like or something bad that happened to me in the past.

I wonder if the itchiness could be from starting to work on myself and realize new things and I wonder what is suggested that I do relative to my mother and older sister?"

Addressing the root of many addictions and illnesses (Top)

The following are some thoughts and ideas as to how to face a situation where we are not free to live our truth yet, for whatever reason we may have, we are not free to leave the situation we face much as described in the personal story above. The most common feeling and desire is to simply leave the situation and find a way out. Although this can work, usually we simply take the issues we face with us. The goal is to not resign ourselves never to be able to leave the situation or is it to try and run away. The goal is to become aware as to where we are denying our creative spirit and why and the look to recreate our life so whatever issue we face goes away. We do have such a creative ability within us and it can be accessed if we so choose and are willing to do what is necessary to access it and release it.

Accept responsibility for what we experience (Top): The greatest and hardest idea for most to accept and do is to accept responsibility for what we experience. If we are going to accept the premise we have a free will, we need to be willing to accept that we have either created the experiences we have and/or agreed to participate in the experience. Or, we have given away our freedom of choice and/or given away our creative power for whatever reason we may have. Otherwise, we create a victim consciousness and are totally at the mercy of some unseen  power or force.

Of course, we do have experiences which make us think we are a victim. But unless we take the perspective of being the creator of our experiences, we will never ultimately find a way out of our situation. We may remove ourselves from the experience but we will not address the root cause which created the experience. So, the first reason to accept responsibility for what we experience is to get at the root cause of why we created or agreed to participate in the experience we have.

The second reason to accept responsibility for what we experience is we need to consider the fact we may have created a learning experience for ourselves. We need to understand that we expect life to be a particular way. We do not consider there are things for us to experience that our mind would not choose to experience but our creative spirit would. Sometime we can continually ask our heart what is it that we need to do but we don't get any kind of answer. Here the issue may not be what we need to do, it may be more about what we need to learn and/or experience.

We need to look to see what part of our being and our truth is affected by what we are experiencing as a result of what the individual before us is does and says. We need to understand the individual before us who gives rise to the experience we cannot escape may actually be a gift. It may be through their actions that we can better discern exactly what we feel. In better discerning what we feel, we are then able to reveal certain aspects of our life or our being which would otherwise remain hidden.

We need to ask ourselves exactly why is it that we get annoyed at what they do and/or say. We need to detach our awareness the best we can from the pain we feel in being annoyed to become a detached witness. As a detached witness we need to look at what is annoyed and exactly what part of our being is being denied. This whole experience with the individual or situation we cannot escape may be about raising our awareness as to exactly what we think and feel about ourselves, about life, about them and about anything in which they cause a reaction in us. We need to look to see what part of our being is responding to them.

We need to realize our body and our being is a communal entity. It is the desire for a playmate which gave rise to the experience of Creation. The body and our being wants to feel and be held much like a small child want to be held. It desire a warm fuzzy place to feel nourished, warm, safe and secure. But there are few individuals in our life who can hold us in that manner, especially members of our own family. Most often it is our own family members who cause us to deny the truth of our being. They are more interested in us fitting in to the family and the society in which our family find itself. Relative to this desire, we need to take responsibility that we are continually lead to make decisions in our life to find that safe and secure space where we can be nourished. Whether we try and fulfill this desire in a mate, in family, through membership in a religious or secular organization, through society and/or through money, wealth or material goods we accumulate, we nevertheless are the ones making the decision.

Only when take responsibility for how we choose to satisfy this desire can we break free of many of the ties and bonds which hold us captive. We need to accept the fact that our uniqueness will never allow us the full satisfaction that we desire in any single individual, group of individuals, or in, or through, any particular experience. To break the bonds of any situation which holds us captive we need to be willing to embrace the whole of Creation and that, as an infinite creative being, it will take an infinite number of different types and kinds of experience to fully reveal ourselves to ourselves. Some of those experience will be experience as extremely binding and captive if not outright painful. Yet only in accepting the experience and looking inward as to why we create the experience we have can we see the root cause. In this awareness we can either have the experience we need to have and move on with our life or change the cause of the experience to create something different.

A simply approach to accepting responsibly for the situation we face is to ask our intuitive guidance, "Why did I create this experience and/or agree to participate in the experience?" or use this question in a healing dream. Then, seen what surfaces in response to our question. If an answer does not seem to arise, be persistent in asking the question. However, we also need to be open to what we receive and what we are feeling and not suppress the answer because we do not like what we are receiving.

Realize individuals are doing the best they know how (Top): Something we need to understand about ourselves and the individuals we experience in life is that all of us are doing the best we know how. We may think we know better but it is in our action that we really demonstrate what we truly believe. To intellectually know a stove is hot and we should not put our hand on that stove is quite different than having the experiential knowing how we can get burnt. If we truly believe and know something we will act on that knowing. The same is true for any individual. They are doing the best they know how and there has not be anyone who has taught them anything different.

An individual may be educated and have teachers with the best credentials possible. But that doesn’t me they understand what they know and are will to make decisions in their life based on what they know. We all make the decisions in our life based on what we really believe and often we default to habits of the past rather than revaluation what choices we are making.

People are always tell us what to do and not to do. Much of it is based on what they think they need to tell us. Few look to see what it is we really need to know and then share with us what we need. Most give to another in the way others gave or give to them. Often there is a hollowness in the giving for there is no awareness of the true need which must be met. Most have never been taught that to nourish any creation we need to give the creation what it needs not what we want to give it or what we think it needs. We need to look carefully at any creation and look to meet its true needs.

Our mother, our father, our friends, anyone in our life, tend to give to us in a way that reflects how they have been treated. They know no other way. We all learn and copy others in our life. It takes awareness, observation and a desire to become different to be other than what we have been taught and copied. We need to remember the individuals who create the situations such that we are unable to experience the free unfoldment of our creative spirit are only doing the best they know how. There has never been anyone in their life to tell them and teach them different. If there had been, they would be different. We need to realize we cannot get the love we seek because most has never learned how to give love - a love that nourishes our true needs. Additionally, if an individual has not learned to love themselves, they cannot give what they do not have. All we can do is learn to love ourselves in the way that nourish our true needs such that we grow and unfold into the infinity of our being. Then, from that space can we give to another the love that will transform them

When we feel the individual or individuals in our life are not meeting our true needs, we need to go within to see if we are giving to our true needs. We need to look at our life and see where we are unable to grow and expand. Our life should be a blossoming every moment. We should be able to feel the fullness of being and have a desire to engage life every moment. That is why we are here - to live the life we incarnated to have. In looking at where we do not have a fullness of being, an inner satisfaction, a desire to engage life and the like, we will find where our true needs are not being nourished. Nourishing those needs starts within us. We cannot look to any other to give us what we do not give ourselves.

The role another plays for us (Top): Creation is not done alone. We need another to give us the experiences we desire to have. It does not matter what that experience is, we need another. Part of the experience of being a human being in Physical Creation is that it takes another to draw out of us who and what we are. Each person will call out something different from within our being. No matter how despicable an individual in our life appears to be, they are playing a role for us. They are play a role for us that we, as the creator of our experiences, asked them to play for one reason or another. Only we can go inward and find out that reason why.

To know why another is in our life, we need to go within and ask our intuitive guidance or ask in a healing dream, "Why is this individual in my life and what role are they playing and how is this experience serving me?’ If we are not being severed we then need to ask why we created it. We then need to see what surfaces in response to our question. If an answer does not seem to arise, we need to be persistent in asking the question. We also need to be open to what we receive and what we are feeling and not suppress the answer because we do not like what we are receiving

Each person we encounter draws out of us some type and kind of reaction. How we react can often open parts of our being we never knew we had. When people treat us as we expect, nothing is revealed in us or them. When they treat us other than what we expect, we can being to see how biased we are about life and how that bias is affecting what we see in ourselves and the world around us. We also begin to see the expectations we have about life.

One role any other plays for us is to cause us to become more creative in our life. If they give us pleasurable experiences, they cause us to create more experiences of the same type and kind. If they give us non pleasant experiences we tend to move aware from them and what they offer to find something more enjoyable. In either case, they challenge us to become more creative. Here again, we cannot give what we do not have. As we become more creative in our life, we allow any other to become more creative in their life.

Many individual how trouble us in life do not know anything else to do. If they did, they wouldn’t be in our life to play a role for us they are playing. As we become more creative, we can literally create them out of our life. But we need to be careful here. It may not be them that is the problem. Rather, it may be our perspective and how we are responding to them that is the problem. As we change within how we respond externally in a different way and we cause them to respond differently to us. We only need to remember our inner world is reflected in the outer. If we make the inner changes, it is only a matter of time until we can evolve ourselves in or out of any external relationship we choose. The question is, what do really desire to experience. When we know what we desire, we need set the intention, create the passion and do what is necessary to create it.

Facing the fear within (Top): As said in the one of the four ways we respond when our creativity become thwarted, we fear what hurts us or has the potential to hurt us. To have our truth denied by any other in any way causes us to feel pain at some level of our being in some part of our being. It is only natural to fear any other who causes us to deny our truth. Allowing that fear to persist and then running from that fear and any situation which causes that fear to arise is a rather childish way to respond to life. Here the recommendation is to move into the awareness of what we feel and pull the string on the fear we face. We need to deal with the fear and look at the real hazard it presents. We need to look within to determine the origins of the fear realizing we may have to rely of feelings to know it root cause.

Realizing the fear in others (Top): We need to remember we cannot give what we do not have. A corollary to this statement is we give what we have. As we learn to live our truth, we nonconsciously create the space for others to live their truth. This can be very frightening to others in our life. Their mind remembers the past and all the way the free expression of their creative spirit and their truth brought them pain. To conceive of living their truth even nonconsciously causes the fears of the past to arise. Additionally, if they allowed us to be free then they would see they too can become free and they would no longer have anyone to blame about their life’s conditions. What is important to realize here is that the others in our life will most probably not recognize or understand that they fear what we do because of what it would mean for their life. In this regard, trying to talk to them about their fears will not be an option in most cases. All one can really do is lead by example and show them that it is safe for one to step into their truth and live it in the world even if it means changes in their life and the lives of others in their life.

Dealing with guilt - rowing to where it is safe (Top): The issue of feeling guilty can arise in one of two ways if not both. One issue that arises in trying to break free is the desire to have others find what we find. We may even feel guilty at stepping out in our own truth because could alienate others in our life. Or, we feel guilty in that we are somehow abandoning those that we love. Yet it is learning to follow our own truth that we create the space for others to follow their truth. More importantly, it is only in living our own truth that we find a inner satisfaction that never runs dry no matter what is happening in our life. That inner satisfaction can then be one of the gifts we can give to another.

There is an example of a man in a life boat try to tell the others on a large ocean liner that the ship is sinking. Everyone laughs But it is only rowing out away from the ship where it is safe that others can begin to see the ship is sinking and they too can be safe if they row out away from the ship. This is in essence what we do when we live our truth. We show others that it is safe to live one’s truth and when they begin to do so, they being to move to that inner satisfaction and find what we all seek in life.

The second issue of guilt is that we may be angry at other having us deny our truth and our creative spirit being held captive so as to not find our truth. If this anger is suppressed and we do not allow our selves to feel the anger for whatever reason we may have to not feel it, it can come out unexpectedly or in some type and kind of accident, illness or disease. If we do feel the anger, we need to allow ourselves to feel what we feel and acknowledge we feel anger. In doing so, we can learn to both manage the anger and allow the energy in the anger to dissipate. Additionally, in being aware of the anger and working with the anger, we can pull the string to see from where the anger is really coming. We can pull the string and explore what facet or facets within our being are being denied.

Facing the true meaning of love (Top): In finding ourselves in a situation where our creative spirit is not free to unfold and we cannot escape the situation, we are forced to look to see what aspects of our being need to be nourished so that they can grow and unfold. Here we can begin to see the basis of true love or, rather, we can begin to see what love truly is.

Love is to give to a creation what it needs to grow and unfold, not what mind wants to give it. Surprisingly, many have not experienced this kind of love to learn how to give it to themselves or another. If they did, they would know how to nourish their true needs and that true needs of any other.

In learning to give to our true needs, we learn to love ourselves in a way which we were never taught. In learning to nurture ourselves true to our needs we can teach others to focus on their true needs. This allows us to face the true meaning of love - to give to another what they need, not what we want to give them. To nurture our true needs we need to be open to what we feel and look to what gives us life. Even if we cannot escape our situation, we can being to nourish what gives us life and come to know what is not being provided in our world. In becoming aware, we can become open to the opportunities that allows us to nurture our true nature. Nurturing our true nature, in turn, allows us to access the creative power to recreate our life.

Tithe to ourselves (Top): When we are asked to deny our truth and cannot physically escape the situation we face, we need to look to find some time to be by ourselves and allow ourselves to step out of mind and all our thinking and judgments. It is to allow ourselves to just be with what we feel. It could be to sit and focus on our breathing or sitting out in the fresh air allowing the wind to blow against us. We just need to allow ourselves to feel the life within our being and go into the feeling. In doing this, we also need to know and understand that we came to earth for a reason and life will naturally move us in that direction if we allow it to do so such that we fulfill that reason. What is in our life now is temporary. How long is temporary, we don't know. But we do know everything will change no matter how long it appears it will last. Nothing is permanent in Physical Creation. When we are in a situation we cannot escape, we need to keep focused on keeping our thoughts centered on the fact that we have a gift to give. In learning to live our truth and be our truth no matter what the external world is doing we will give the gift that we have. At times, life can be very hard. The best way around any restriction we feel in the moment is to ensure we have enough private and personal time even if it is to sit in our own room by ourselves.

Understand the buttons that are being pushed (Top): Whenever we find ourselves in a situation where our creative spirit is not free to unfold true to itself and we cannot remove ourselves from the situation for whatever reason, we need to consider there is something more to the situation. As the creator of our experience by how and what we think and believe we either have created the situation because there is something we desire to experience in the situation or we unknowingly created it because of how and what we think and believe.

In either case, we can look to see "what buttons are being pushed" in us. We need to pull the string on whatever we feel is causing us to be upset and/or dissatisfied with the situation as it exists to see where exactly within our being our creative spirit is not free and why. We need to look at what the individuals who are seem to be holding us captive say and what they do that causes us to feel captive. It pulling the string on what we feel and think we can come to understand what lies deeply buried within us. In understanding what is giving rise to our dissatisfaction, we then have the options to change what we think and believe to create a different experience.

Accepting and facing what we find within (Top): One of the most important things we can do is to learn to access and face what we find within ourselves without judgment. This includes what we would call negative and/or harmful feelings and thoughts about someone or something. For example, acknowledging feelings of anger we have about someone or something. Some would call this embracing, or at least acknowledging, our dark side. What we call what we find does not matter.

What we need to understand is that whatever we find is a part of us and there is no good nor bad or right or wrong in Creation. There is only energy. How we label what we find is only a judgment of our mind based on how and what we think and believe and the experiences we have had. However, it needs to be clearly understood there are consequences to the expression of any energy. Some of those consequences we find pleasurable and others not so pleasant. Ideally the expression of anything we find with within our being would be in such a way such that truly serves us and we harm no one. Here it needs to be noted that we care creative enough to find such a way to express whatever we find.

The issue here is not about expressing the energy we find but look for what lies within and acknowledging its presence. Once we acknowledge it presences we can explore it and look to see from where it arises and why. Then, when we find its source, we have the option of how we will work with that energy. To deny what lies within is to cause us to live in separation rather than wholeness and creates a fragmentation within our own being. The more we fragment and/or compartmentize ourselves the greater the difficulty in experience the wholeness and oneness of Creation.

One of the easiest ways to find and access what is within is to journal. It is to journal what we feel about any person or issue we face. When we journal, we need to be blunt and honest about what we feel and all that the individual or situation does to us. It is best to put our writing in a bound composition or log book. It is not that we are necessarily going to go back and read what we wrote. Rather it is more of a ritual about collecting and making visible what is unseen  within us with the intention in a way that we are not going to lose or misplace the information as we would if we had individual sheets of paper. We need to express anything and everything we wish to do to the individuals and/or wish to say and how we would like to respond to them because of what they do to us. We need to allow all our feelings, whether they be anger and frustration at them or love of them, to come out. We need to understand we can become so bottled up as to what to do about an individual or situation, what to say to them and how to respond to them or the situation that we never become aware we have our own truth to live. Most find this process quite cathartic and freeing.

Often there is no need to do anything with what is uncovered. Simply uncovering the information and acknowledging its existence is sufficient to release the energy. However, we do have the option of pulling the string on anything that arises to see what lies at the root of the issue or we can pursue some appropriate action to address what we find.

Consider self inflected punishment (Top): There is an interesting twist to what we feel when the free expression of our creative spirit is thwarted and we are unable to escape the situation we face. The twist is we begin to think and wish less that desirable things happen to those who seem to be causing our pain and discomfort. That then raises the issue of an internal judgment upon ourselves that we are somehow bad or evil for thinking thoughts at to where another can be harmed and/or suffer pain. Bad people get punished. Evil people get punished. So it is only natural that our nonconscious mind creates some way that we punish ourselves for what we think about those seemingly causing our lack of freedom.

Accidents, illness, diseases and the like all have an element of pain and/or discomfort. If they were pleasant experiences they would not be abhorred. Less than desirable body conditions that seems to flair up or become exacerbated when with certain individuals or in certain situation could contain an element of self influenced punishment. That we, we punish ourselves for both not living and being our truth and/or the thoughts we have about what we would like to do and/or have happen to the individuals who are denying our freedom. This is not to imply in any way that accidents, illnesses or diseases are self inflicted punishments. But in certain situation this element could be present.

The issue is we just need to be aware that there is the possibility that we punish ourselves for what we feel about others. Most of us have been taught not to get angry at people, especially family members, those in authority over us, and the like. But in certain situations we can become furious with certain individual but we think our only option is to suppress what we feel. Rather than recognizing the anger for what it is and allow ourselves to acknowledge and feel it and find a way to dissolve it or dissipate it, we bottle it up. We then feel guilty for having that anger. The bottled up energy then breaks out as both as an degraded body condition and as punishment.

What we need to realized if that if we are going judge ourselves and punish ourselves for the thoughts and feeling we have there are two ways to do it. One is to suppress them and have the energy releases in unexpected and undesirable ways such as an accident, illness or disease. The other way simply to go and receive some type and kind of punishment for what think and be done with the pain. If we are going to punish ourselves for having the thoughts and feelings we do, it is much easier and efficient to simply go and spank ourselves than suppressing our judgment and have it come out unexpectedly.

Create a space of freedom with the goal of feeling free (Top): We need to understand that ultimately, our inner world is reflected in our outer world.  Any change we desire to experience externally starts somewhere with an internal change. Additionally, Physical Creation is a place of growth and evolution. Most things start from some type and kind of seed condition which grows and unfold over time. Any internal change we make will slowly grow and evolve externally. We need to give ourselves time to grow our creation and allow ourselves to remain focused for as long as it takes on what we desire to experience It time what we desire will unfold in a way that can be supported by our environment. On this point, we may find we need to change our environment if we wish to have a more fulfilling experience of what we desire.

To break free of a situation where we seem to be held captive we start our effort with making the necessary internal changes first. We need to plant the seeds of freedom within our own being by looking to find the freedom to explore any and all options in our own creative imagination . Unless we can find the freedom we seek within our own being, we will never find it externally.

Many are taught it is wrong or dangerous to hold evil or harmful thoughts and that we should only have good thoughts about ourselves and others. Of course the issue we face is two fold. One is who defines "good" and what is a "good" thought. For example, in most societies, killing another individual is wrong under some conditions but acceptable under other conditions. But any two societies do not necessarily agree on to acceptable and not acceptable conditions. The other issue is what does it mean to hold a thought as opposed to simply entertaining a thought and realizing we can become anything we choose if our body can support what we desire to create..

Relative to what is good and what are good thoughts, the recommendation is to consider that which is good ultimately holds our creativity sacred. That which is good allows us to expand into the infinity of our being. It allows us to experience a fullness of being, a passion for life and to engage life, a blossoming within our being and/or an inner satisfaction which never runs dry no matter what is happening in our external world.

Relative to holding a thought as opposed to entertaining a thought is about putting energy into the thought we have. We need to understand, our creative imagination  should be a place where we are free to explore any and all options. It should be a place where we are free to entertain any and all thoughts we wish to have or that arise. Entertaining a thought is simply about looking at options and possibilities. It is about looking to see what is possible and what type and kind of energy lies within the thought we have.

Holding a thought is about taking one of the thoughts which we have entertained in our creative imagination  and consciously or nonconsciously looking to make it real. We hold a thought consciously by choose to manifest that thought some way in our life. We hold a thought noncosnciously by becoming emotionally attached to it in some way. That is, we consciously dismiss the thought because we judge it wrong or unacceptable even though it appeals to us in some way. But, if we are unaware of why it appeals to us, our nonconscious mind can pick up that thought and hold it and pump energy into it causing it to manifest in our life in some way. It is this fact that worries individuals in authority such that they try and control the free exploration of ideas in our creative imagination. The try and control what the individual thinks by how they program the individuals under their authority. Individuals are given beliefs that corral the creative imagination such that the individual is unaware they are not free to explore options and only explore what is the programming allows.

We need to understand, our creative imagination  is where we stand at the threshold to access the infinity of our being. We can access the infinity of our being if we are free to move past the barriers and limitations of our mind. Freedom in our external world begin with the freedom to explore all options in our creative imagination. If we cannot be free in our own creative imagination we will never find freedom in our external world. We know we are free in our creative imagination in two ways. One way is we are free to explore any and all options. The other way is we can feel the freedom and we can feel the expansion of our being in the freedom of exploration.

When we are faced with situations in life that cause us to deny our truth and we are unable to leave the situation, we need to look at how free we are to explore options in our creative imagination . For example, our mother or father is constantly telling us we do thing wrong no matter how old we are or how much evidence suggest otherwise. They tell us what they think we need to do and never look at what truly nourishes what we need for our unfoldment and growth at each and every level of our being. The questions is, are we free to imagine our mother or father in what some would call disrespectful ways. Can we imagine them as an alien - maybe green with four arms and pointed head - who does not understand us. Or, can we image them as a Neanderthal dressed in animal skins because their ideas are so out of touch with the real world. Only when we are free to imagine whatever we wish in our own mind will we both protect our creative spirit from how they thwart its free express and yet allow our creative spirit to be free and not placed in a cage of our own making. The same is true for any situation we face whether it be our boss, our religious teacher, the mayor of our town or whomever.

Such a freedom in our creative imagination  plants the seeds to become free. In time we will begin to see the option and the path that lead us to freedom. It is here we need to trust that we are an infinite creative being and that we have the creative ability and creative power to transform our life and the world in which we experience. It is just that in Physical Creation we grow and evolve our creations. How long it takes all depends on how different what we desire is than where we find ourselves. Here it needs to be noted that often the solution we seek is not necessarily physically moving or separating from anyone in our life. Often is it simply seeing who and what we are and the situation we face through a different perspective. In particular a perspective the hold our creativity sacred for we may be experiencing exactly what we need to experience in the moment.

Peeling the layers of the onion (Top): When we begin to look within to see what is within us as to how and why we may have created the situation we face, we will find our journey is much like pealing the layers of an onion or continually spiraling around going deeper and deeper in each spiral. Many hope to see exploring within and/or changing the situation they face like going to a fast food restaurant and ordering a hamburger. However, nothing can be farther from the truth. More often than not is like peeling layer after layer of an onion - each layer seemingly to make little progress. It is not uncommon to get better for a while or make progress and then seem to go backwards only to move forward again. We cannot be over joyed at our progress nor should we be remorseful in our set backs. We just need to keep focused on creating the freedom to explore all options in our creative imagination  and hold our creativity sacred. In time, we will achieve the freedom for our creative spirit to unfold.

Becoming happy with what is as it is (Top): For whatever situation we face in life our goal should to learn to be happy with what is, as it is. This, of course, is very hard to do when we have pain, suffering or lack of freedom of movement in our life. However, in learning to be happy with what is, as it is, we achieve several things. The first and foremost is that we honor the creator/Creator whomever we see that creator/Creator to be and the creative process. That is, we understand there is a cause to the effect we experience. When we honor the creative process and the creator/Creator we acknowledge within our own being the ability to assume the role of consciousness in the creative process and become the cause of our next experience. We do not blame anyone for what we experience but realize there are things that have been set in motion that cause what we are currently experiencing and there are thing we can do and action we can take to change what we experience.

Also in learning to be happy with is, as it is, we detach form what is. In detachment, we can begin to see a bigger picture. In this large picture we can begin to see how events come together to create what we experience. In seeing the bigger picture, we then know how to position ourselves in what we are experiencing to better serve us and our creative spirit and to hold our creativity sacred. These action then allow us to call back and consolidate our creative ability and creative power to create something new. Eventually we can learn that we can be happy with is, as it is, in spite of others trying to make our life painful or miserable. In doing so, we no longer live our life based on what others think and what they want us to do. Rather, we can learn to live our life based on our truth and to response in ways which provide us the greatest freedom available to us in the situation..

Holding our creativity sacred (Top): In holding our creativity sacred we access an inner awareness and understanding about ourselves and our true needs as to what we need to do to recreate whatever experience we are having. As a minimum we need to begin to do something truly creative in our life. It doesn’t matter what we create, it just needs to be a truly creative endeavor that takes us out of mind into the unknown we have not been before, especially into the unknown of our own being. That is, outside of who and what we think and believe ourselves to be. It could be simply be doodling if we never allow ourselves to doodle. Or, we can do something a little more challenging like a "not doing" exercise and become something other than we have been. The concept of "not doing" arises from the statement many individuals make which is, "I would never be caught dead doing that." To "not do" would be to do exactly what is that we would never be caught dead doing.

In holding our creativity sacred, we need to do something creative and we need to look to see where and how we are giving way or have given away our creativity and freedom of movement to explore an alternative way of life. There are physical limitations in our life imposed by Physical Creation. But there are also a lot of imposed limits placed on our life by our mind and what we think and believe. We need to start to look to remove the barriers in your own mind to at least create the freedom to explore any and all options in our creative imagination .

When we step into the unknown of our own being and outside of who and what we think and believe ourselves to be we stand at a doorway. We stand at the doorway to the infinity of our own being and the creative solutions to any problem we face and/or what we desire to create. We need to realize there is more than one solution to any problem we face and there are more than one way to create what we desire. The issue is what can the environment in which we find ourselves support. Different environments will support a different expressions of any creation. We may find we need to recreate our environment to have the particular solution we seek. Then at other times, our environment can be fully supportive of what we desire.

holding our creativity sacred can do two things for us. One is that we can find that solution that we can hold within our being which becomes the seed that grows and unfolds our life to create a different life and environment than which now exits. The second thing is that when we hold our creativity sacred and exercise our creativity, we can talk creator to creator with the creator/Creator of our life whomever we see that creator/Creator to be. A doctor talks differently to a doctor than an lay person. An engineer talks differently to another engineer than a lay person. The creator/Creator of our life will talk different to us when we are creating. Here the creator/Creation talks one to one with us as a creator. Here we can access whatever we desire. We only need to learn the inner language and how the inner world and the unseen  world communicated with the outer world we see and experience.

The individuals in our life on which we focus or who focuses us (Top): We create our experience by how we focus our attention and awareness. We focus ourselves by what we think and believe and where direct our creative life energy. Our creative life energy flow to create an experience of that on which we focus.

If we want to step out of a situation we face in life we must focus on something that lies outside our current situation. We do not know what the future holds and how life will transpire to change the world we experience. If we focus on the conditions we face we will never break out of them. If we focus on becoming free of what we currently face and we have something to experience outside of our current situation on which we can focus, we will break out of our existing world. We may not create or get what we desire to experience but we find we go a long way of moving towards that end. But, most importantly, the focus breaks us out of the existing situation. In many ways this is an every day application of the quantum mechanical concept of tunneling were seemly impossible barriers can be penetrated.

It is here were an individual who can represent our freedom becomes important in our life. All we need is one individual to focus our attention and awareness to pull us out of any situation we face. The literature is full of stories where one individual coaches, encourages, supports, guide, or otherwise assists another to break out of seemingly impossible life circumstances. It can be in the process of healing a illness or disease or simply encouraging a poor student to do well, or given a disadvantage individual something for which to strive in life. If we have no such individual in our life we can always look to the stories of those who have risen above their life circumstances to break free of the world which held them captive. Ideally it would be to have a rainmaker to enter our life but any individual who can inspire us to move past our current world will do. To break free of our existing situation and the Universe for such an individual to enter our life or look for such an inspiration in the lives of others who overcome great difficulties.
