- an intention for our life

The dream within the heart

Accessing the wisdom of the creative spirit

So what do we intent with our life

The source of our life

The source of our creative power

The source of the direction to our life

Something mind cannot fully understand

Access the dream within the heart

Our gift to Creation

The dream within the heart unfolds in play

If you explore the creative process and the source of your creative energy and ability and observe without judgement, what you will come to see is there is an intention for your life. In becoming intimate with this creative spirit and surrendering to the flow of one’s creative life energy, one can begin to understand this intention for our life. This intention for our is the reason for our incarnation.

In using the term incarnation, it needs to be understood our creative spirit is, from a creativity perspective, synonymous with the flow of creative life energy that sustains us. As discussed under the topic, “Energy an invariant within the creativity perspective,” energy can consciousness can be seen as one and the same. As such the consciousness that you perceive yourself to be is an energy and as an energy it never dies. It is only transforms from one form to another. It may lie dormant, but never dies. For whatever reason the consciousness that you perceive as you, transformed itself into a creative spirit within the body you posses to have a physical experience.

Our creative spirit and what it desires to create is key to accessing both the intention for our life and the dream within our heart. It is said dream within our heart for we each carry within the source of our being, metaphorically the heart, what can best be described as a unique dream, or intention to do or achieve something with, or in, our life.

In this regard, metaphorically our heart is used to represent four interconnected things. Or, maybe better said, the heart represent one thing which has four expressions or is perceived in four different ways when viewed from with Creation. First it can be seen as the resting place for our creative spirit. The heart is traditionally seen at what lies at the essence of one’s being as in the expression “it lies at the heart of the matter.” Our creative spirit is at the heart of who and what we are.

Second, since energy and consciousness can creatively be seen as one and the same, this creative spirit is also representative of the source of the flow of our creative life energy. This flow of energy sustains us and provides the energy for all our creative endeavors.

Third, the heart is the location for the intention for our life. The intention for our life is what causes our creative spirit come into physical Creation and created the flow of energy that sustains us. In aligning with the flow of energy we align ourselves with that intention

The dream within the heart (Top)

The fourth thing the heart represent is that it represents a dream. The desire to express the intention for our life and allow it to unfold in the world can be called a dream with the heart. The dream within our heart and the intention for our life are like flip sides of a coin. They are usually perceived differently but they are one and the same. They just look different for each represents a different focus. If you look to the past and where our creative life energy come from, you find the intention for our life. If you look to the future and where it is flowing, you find a dream to unfold. It represents what we wish to manifest and experience in life. Aligning with, and surrendering to the flow of energy carries us to what we desire to create and the experiences we desire to have. Surrendering to the dream opens the door to aligning with the reason we came into this world for we align with the flow of energy that created and sustains our life. In doing so we align with the reason this flow ever started - that is, the intention and/or purpose that gives rise to our life.

When given the correct condition the creative spirit which is embodied within the flow of energy that sustains us, will germinate, grow and bear fruit much like a seed. The fruit that comes forth is our gift which we give to the world. We each carry such a gift to give and of course, the origins of this gift appears as that which lies within our heart and gives us a fullness for life and for being. Without the proper conditions, this dream lies dormant and never comes forth. So in many ways it can be said there is a fifth item found in the heart and it is the gift we are here to give.

Yet we can never fully understand with our mind the dream we carry. Our mind will form and present an image, thought or vision as to what it thinks this dream/ intention is. However, mind forms such an image only as the result of the experiences it has and it does not have the experience to fully understand what it is here to do. As such, this dream or intention goes well beyond what mind is capable of understanding and fully comprehending. This dream/intention can only be felt through the alignment with the flow of creative energy within one’s being.

From a creativity perspective, the intention for one’s life is extremely important for it create an undercurrent for our life and for our creative power and ability. To deny the free flow of our creative spirit in any way denies the dream and its unfoldment. The denial is also a denial of the primary aspect of one’s own creative power for the dream is related to the intention which gave rise to our life. If one does not access this dream and/or move toward manifesting that dream in some way, they will never experience their full creative potential for the dream/intention is the source of our life and our creative power and creative ability.

However, for most creative needs, accessing the dream of the heart is unnecessary. Usually we live the dream subconsciously and that is sufficient for most of us. The time and place of our incarnation coupled with our early life experiences is usually sufficient to create the conditions to access the dream at a subconscious level. It is when our mind enters the picture and we start listening to the outside world as to what is and isn’t important for our individual life that we loose focus and get off track. In this regard, the dream only becomes important for most when one’s overall life does not appear to be working, there is a deep inner dissatisfaction with life, or one is driven to one or more significant addictive behaviors, and/or there is some kind of healing one seeks to obtain at some level of one’s being. The reason for this is that it was found that if one does not align consciously or subconsciously with this dream/intention in some way one will never find an internally satisfaction no matter what one does and how successful they appear to be in life.

To access the depth and breadth of our creative power this dream within the heart must be awakened. When we are not aware of the dream much of its power tends to lie dormant. Usually it lies dormant as a result of the conditions of the life which it experiences. As a result of the nature of physical Creation which continually draws us away from the necessary internal focus, few ever have the space for this dream to be free to unfold naturally. Most only drift in or towards the general direction required to manifest this intention. This is because they are carried by a very deep slow moving undercurrent as a result of this flow. Through this undercurrent one can normally access a sufficient level of creativity energy to create the life they have choose to live.

To be truly active, this creative spirit needs to consciously be called forth by another and given a safe and secure space to freely unfold true to itself. It is here in understanding this dream we each carry that one can learn the dance of creation/Creation and how and why we each need another to call forth our creativity and/or to awaken that dream to bring it to life to unfold. Our own heart can give us answers and a wisdom about life that cannot be found anywhere externally.

The key to accessing these answers about life and the life giving wisdom lies within our being. It is the unfoldment of the our creative spirit that longs to come out and creatively play. As is discussed under the topic, “Characteristics of the Creative Spirit” the our creative spirit must be able to play for it is only in play one can discover and explore the options and paths that are possible. Without the freedom to play, this creative spirit cannot find its way in the world and the dream will never unfold. Or, if it does unfold, it will be stunted in its growth and most probably be sterile and unable to produce its fruits. It may grow and unfold in the world but it will not bear fruit and the inherent gift will not be given no matter how creative the individual may appear to be.

Accessing the wisdom of the creative spirit (Top)

As discussed under the characteristics of the creative spirit, there is a life giving wisdom available to each of us. One of the quickest ways to access the creative spirit and its wisdom to learn how to unfold the dream within the heart is to realize that your breathing as the outward manifestation of your animating life energy. Your breathing is the minimum energy used to keep you alive. As long as you are breathing, you are essentially alive. A good part of your brain can be dead, but you will be alive as long as you continue to breathe.

You are alive for a reason and this minimum sustaining energy within your breathing carries the information as to why you are alive and why it continues to sustain you. This is the main underlying reason why so many esoteric traditions recommend you focus on your breathing. It is a doorway to focus yourself into your reason for being here. So it only makes sense to learn to communicate with your creative spirit to understand both why you are here and what it would like you to do in any moment.

By calming yourself and focusing on your breathing, you can ask yourself in the moment, “What do I need to do to fulfill the intention for my life?” Your intuitive guidance will provide you with an answer. However, most of us carry more than one intention for our life We all have picked up intentions based on how we think the world works and what we have been told as to what is important in life. So it is important to become very clear and precise in what you ask. To ask, “What do I need to do in this moment?” your intuition will most probably default to the most energetic conscious or subconscious intention you hold. That is not necessarily the answer you seek. So it is important to become very clear and precise in what you ask for you will get an answer. You may not like the answer you get but you will nevertheless get an answer. Additionally, as discussed under the topic of intuitive guidance and honoring intuitive guidance, the image or thought presented by mind will not necessarily be correct. However, the direction you need to travel is correct.

When it come to creating with our creative life energy, we each need to realize the energy we have available above this minimum energy is ours to control and direct as we chose. There are no judgements on what we choose but there are consequences. However, this minimum energy sustains you for a purpose and it has its objectives as to what it would like you to do. We say “would like you to do” because you have a free will. How you use your life and the energy that is given to you is your choice. This includes the minimum energy that is necessary to sustain you for you can end your own life it you choose.

This creative life energy gives you the ability and potential to change and transform any aspect of your life or your reality. For you to work with this energy, it is essential that you are free to choose to respond to whatever occurs in life and that you do not live your life to please another individual or because someone wants, or requires, you to live a certain way. Examples include your employer, a spouse, significant other, society or any other collection of “other” individuals. However, most of us have learned and been programmed from our earliest age to please and meet the standards of others. These habits we have learned run very deep within our being and continually mask what lies within our heart.

So what do we intent with our life (Top)

So what do we intent with our life? What is life really all about? That is a question only you can answer. The intention for your life may be nothing more than to just have a physical experience. It may be to just to see what being physical feels like. Or, the intention for your life may be to have a particular physical experience for some specific purpose. It may be to create a new form of government or a new form of music.

In any case, as you explore the intention for your life and the dream within your heart, you will find an intention for your life. You will also find that you either created it or you agreed to experience it at some level of your being for one reason or another. No one has forced you to be here. You are not a puppet on a string. You are only fulling some intent that you have created within your being.

How and why you have that intention is really irrelevant. You are here and from a creativity perspective it is recommended you allow the flow of energy that is guiding your life to fully dissipate in the experience you have. But what is very is relevant about this dream or the intention for your life are four things. Two of these are contained in the description that the intention for your life can be described as a dream within your heart. The are, it is the source of our life, it is the source of our creative power, it is the source of direction for our life and it is something mind cannot fully understand.

The source of our life  (Top)

The first thing is that this dream or intention for our life is the source of our life. It represents the concentration of the creative energy and power that brought one into life and is what supplies the direction and flow of energy for one’s creative spirit to unfold into life if it is in no way thwarted in its actions. It is what gives you a passion for life and for living. It possesses a life giving wisdom that can be used to manifest the intent for your life

It is said to reside in the heart for it is what ultimately gives us life and is the source of our life and creative power. It is much the way our heart is the source of the flow of the life blood that keeps or physical body alive. So, metaphorically, the heart is the proper organ to be seen as holding this dream or intention. It is the reason why you are here and the creative energy you possess is a direct result of this intention.

On this note of creating life, the creative spirit will create conditions of health and/or disease or illness to give us the life the experiences, we have chosen to experience, in one way or another, at some level of our being. Although mind may think the actions of this unfolding creative spirit are reckless, damaging if not outright stupid and suicidal, the reverse is true. Mind thinks it knows how to give life but does not really know how to lead us into life. In reality mind only knows how to sustain the past based on the experiences it has had and seeks to protect the life it knows. Yet, in seeking to protect the life it knows, it stifles and suppresses the unfoldment of life.

Mind knows how to lead us to what we like and away from what we dislike. It will look for a way to make life more enjoyable and pleasurable. It looks to correct and or prevent conditions of accident, illness and disease but it does not know how to create life itself. Mind does not realize the accident, illness or disease we experience, may be the life we desire to experience and/or be the vehicle we need to get the experience we desire. Mind looks to see what sustains life or preserves the life that currently exists and it has even figured out how to clone life, but it does not know how to create life for mind does not really understand what life really is. Mind is a product of life and as such it has difficultly understanding its creator, the experience of life itself and the flow of energy that gives rise to life. Here again, surrendering to what arises from within is frightening to most for they have never learned how to discern what is their personal truth and what they need to experience as opposed to something they have been lead to believe based on their environment and the experiences they have had.

The source of our creative power (Top)

The second thing is that this dream or intention for our life is the source of our creative power. Since it represents the concentration of the creative energy that brought you into life and is source of your passion for life and for living, it is the source of your ability to do, to create and to make things happen. Aligning with the intention that brought you into the world allows you to access the source of your creative ability for your creative power is directed towards manifesting that intention. In many ways it is like aligning with the current flow and direction of the river. It also provides the door way to optimize and/or increase your creative ability for it come from the source of your being and through that doorway you can access the Source of Creation. In aligning with the dream we access the source of our creative power and the Source of Creation for the flow of energy that sustains our being flows from this Source. But it can only be felt and one must be open to feeling to access it. We must feel its pulse and its flow of energy. Mind will not properly understand it and that is one reason why it is said to be dream. Mind can understand it as a dream but most often not a reality to unfold.

Your creative spirit desires to manifest this dream or intention with the life you have. Relative to what this creative spirit desires to create, the function of mind is to figure out how to create a space within the world to manifest this dream. However you do have a free will. You are free to choose however you wish to unfold the dream of your heart and you do not have to unfold this dream. Since you have a free will you are free to create what you wish. There are no judgements on what you choose to create. There are only consequences to what you create for the time and place in which you live. However, unless you access it, you will not access the total creative power available to you and you will be unable to fully understand what you possess and why there is a unknown pull in your life. In some ways it is like buying a car or a truck for a specific purpose. You now have a vehicle for your original intention. If you choose to do something else with the vehicle now that you have started your journey you may or may not have an adequate vehicle for what you now desire. You will have to check out the attributes and features of the vehicle you have to see if the vehicle can do what you now desire it to do and learn how to use these features for your new desire.

When you access the source of your power, you can come to an understanding as to why you carry the intention that you do. Then in the wisdom of that understanding you can choose to live or not live the intention for you life. What you will gain is the ability to access the depth and breadth of your creative power. If you do not access the flow of energy that is pushing you towards manifesting this intention to things will occur. One is that you will not optimize your creative power but only using a faction of it. The other is there will be a constant pull or undercurrent in your life which brings us to the third item that is relevant about the intention for your life.

The source of the direction to our life (Top)

The third thing is that there is a direction to for our life. The flow of energy that brought you into this world and is sustain you is carrying your some where. Relative to a creative endeavor if what you desire to create is not in alignment with it, will not have access to the full creative power available to you and you will either be opposed by it or have a “drift” to your effort such that you always seem to have to correct for something you do not quite understand. It is like trying to cross a body of water that you think is calm when in reality there is a current to it. If you are aligned with the current, things go faster. If you are opposed to it, thing are more difficult to do. If you are at cross purposes or cross directions, you will have to correct for its pull or you will drift past your target.

When we do not consciously allow this creative spirit to lead our life it will create conditions subconsciously to push us toward its purpose. One result of this is that we may feel a deep internal struggle, longing or even pain which we may try to numb. If we try to numb the pain rather than addressing the root of its origins, we set ourselves up for developing one or more addictive patterns in life to suppress what we feel. How significant an addiction we develop and whether or not it is damaging to our being depends on the significance of the pain we feel.

You can only know the direction to where this intention is leading you by feel, in hindsight and extrapolation, or until you get the minimum set of requisite experience to properly characterize it by your mind. You can align with it instantaneously by feel if you are open to what you feel and can discern what you feel. Hindsight and a review of your life, may or may not work depending on whether or not your path is metaphorically straight or curved. Similarly the minimum set of requisite experiences depends on how varied your life is and how varied were the types and kinds of experiences you have had. The more diverse the experiences you have the faster you will can begin to see the intention for your life. The contrast of the experiences provides the context for the awareness to arise.

Something mind cannot fully understand (Top)

Fourth thing is that this intention is described as a dream. It is a dream in that it is a desire embodied within a childlike creative spirit that longs to be free to unfold true to itself much the way we hold a precious dream. It is a dream in the sense it is an idea, image, feeling or awareness of something we desire to experience or create in a life. It acknowledges there is something we are here to do and experience and our lives will never feel fulfilled unless we are moving toward the fulfillment of that dream or desire. However, mind will not readily know the intention for your life contrary to what it may tell you.

This dream is beyond the understanding of mind as one knows their mind unless they consciously seek to understand it. It will not be something one stumbles upon. It is something to which one must open oneself to feel. As has been said, mind cannot properly characterize what it has not experienced. It only knows what it has experienced. Since mind has yet to fully experience the intention for your life, it cannot fully know that intention.

The reason for this is that the dream we carry is reflective of why we incarnated or localized our creative spirit into our body. The flow of energy within one’s being that brought one into life and why that flow of energy even exists existed before your mind, as you know it, became aware of itself and its environment. Mind, as we know mind, arises after our incarnation and as a result of the experience we have in the body. To fully understand the intention for one’s life, one must fully live the life that was intended. But mind only knows what it has experienced so mind may piece together the minimum pieces to understand the intention. It will not fully know the intention until it is lived. Mind cannot give you the answer you seek in this area. To understand the dream that lies within our heart, one must find a way to step outside their mind and consciously experience the energy unfolding that intention. Then, in the awareness of that flow, you can move back to the source of that flow and find that intention. You can access the consciousness the created the flow and understand its intention.

Access the dream within the heart (Top)

The key to stepping our of mind to access this dream is through feeling and what the body senses and the subsequent intuitive guidance that rises as a result of what we sense. If one is observant and discerning, they can feel the flow of energy within their being that gives them life. They can know by feel whether or not the decisions or actions one takes is supportive of their life and/or is in alignment with this flow of energy. Most do not become aware of this dream within one’s heart because for a variety of reasons we are not open to the depth of feeling necessary to become aware of it. Additionally, we often do not learn to discern if the energy that gives rise to what we feel arises from within our being or from without.

When one is in alignment with this flow of energy and living the life that the creative spirit creates for an individual will move toward an understanding and an awareness that leads to an unending inner satisfaction they will seem to never run dry no matter what is happening in the external world. Many experience this inner satisfaction as bliss, joy, calmness within or something similar. Living the dream of the heart allows one to look back over the life they have lived and say, “It is good - I have been well served.” When they are not in alignment with the intention and its resulting flow of energy and their choices have not consciously choose to step out of that alignment, they will probably feel discomfort and pain in some way at some level of their being. It is here one finds wholeness. To experience the wholeness between mind and heart as opposed to separation within one’s being, one must allow the heart, unmasked by mind, to intend the direction of one’s life and unfold this dream and have mind attend to the details to make it happen.

One can go off and live a secluded life and find a deep inner happiness. Yet, that does not mean their dream goes into the world and they can have the same happiness in the middle of the chaos of the external world. We incarnate to be in and with Creation, and to fully participate in Creation. We are not here to be separate and secluded from it. It is why we have physical bodies that force us to interact with the world. It forces us to breather air, drink water, eat food and mate with another to sustain the human chain. We are here to participate and engage in the creation process. Yet, although we need another for our dream to unfold, often the one who creates the space for our dream to unfold may never be aware they are doing so. This is why the role of the other is so often missed. We do not see nor understand the role we play for another and they role they play in our own life. Only in awareness can we see how much we need another.

In any case, when one accesses their creative spirit and allows the dream within the heart to unfold true to its nature, one’s entire life is transformed. Moving to manifest the dream forces us to move from where we are and the world we created, that has not allowed the unfoldment of our dream in the past, to move in the fastest way possible to a world in which the dream can unfold free and unfettered.

Our gift to Creation (Top)

When, and if, this creative spirit is free to play natural to its being without the imposition of the judgements of the mind, the dream will naturally unfold. When permitted, the dream will unfold within the actions of this powerful creative spirit and the actions of this playful creative spirit will be the dream unfolding. When given the correct condition the dream in the heart which is embodied within the flow of energy that sustains us, will germinate, grow and bear fruit much like a seed. The fruit that comes forth are our gift which we give to the world. We each carry such a dream and a gift to give. Without the proper conditions, it lies dormant and never comes forth. To deny the free flow of our creative spirit in any way denies the dream and its unfoldment and the denial is also a denial of an aspect of one’s own creative power.

The dream within the heart unfolds in play (Top)

As discussed under the topic of the playful characteristic of the creative spirit, this creative spirit must be able to play for it is only in play one can discover and explore the options and paths that are possible.

Since this creative spirit will playfully explore options, the creative spirit can be very frightening to one’s mind. It is frightening for that spirit seems to disregard the experience of mind. It seems to blindly enter a creative effort disregarding all the fears of mind. Mind finds it very difficult to control this spirit when it is released. Yet, rather than learning to flow with this creative spirt, mind seeks to break the spirit as one would break the spirit of a wild horse so it can be harnessed to pull a wagon or ridden. To make its job easier, mind will mask the heart and mask seeing and facing the spirit within one’s own being. Our mind is afraid that if this spirit is released, our life will not be our own.
The paradox of the dream

This is the paradox of the dream. If we access it and surrender to the dream, we appear to our mind as losing control over our life and creative ability. Yet, in accessing and surrendering to the dream, we access an indescribable freedom. It opens the door to an understanding and awareness which can lead one to an internal bliss and joy that never runs day no matter what is happening in the world.
Surrendering to the dream opens the door to aligning with the reason we came into this world for we align with the flow of energy that created and sustains our life and we align with the reason this flow ever started - that is, the intention and/or purpose that gives rise to our life.

From a creativity perspective, if one does not access this dream and/or move toward manifesting that dream in some way, they will never experience their full creative potential. It is here in understanding this dream we each carry that one can learn the dance of creation/Creation and how and why we each need another to call forth our creativity and/or to awaken that dream to bring it to life to unfold. The dream must be awakened for us to access the depth and breadth of our creative power for much of its power tends to lie dormant as a result of the conditions of the life which it experiences. Yet, as a result of the nature of physical Creation, few ever have the space for this dream be free to unfold naturally. Most only drift in or towards the general direction required to manifest this intention because they are carried by a very deep slow moving undercurrent as a result of this flow and the can access a sufficient level of creativity energy to create what they desire in life. To be truly active, this creative spirit needs to consciously be called forth by another. There are two reasons for this. It is the awareness of these reasons that this creative spirit need to be called forth is what makes the Releasing Your Unlimited Creativity so different than other methodologies. But to understand the first reason as to why there is the need for another to call forth this dream one must understand the vulnerability of the creative spirit.
