In looking at what we would call healing, it needs to be understood there is more than one reason why we have what we call an "unhealthy" condition or an undesirable condition in which we think, or feel needs to be healed. The topic, "Six types of accident, illness and disease we can create - a creativity perspective," discusses six creative conditions that can lead to experience that make us think we may need to be healed. The question is, "What is really giving rise to the unhealthy conditions we face?"

Sometimes, for whatever reason we may have, an accident, illness or disease is an experience we incarnated to have. Or, the unhealthy condition is the vehicle we use to obtain certain types and kinds of experiences and/or understandings that can only be obtained in, or through, a particular illness or disease. Often the issue is not about healing as much as it is about having the experience for whatever we, as a creator, chose to have the experience. The ritual we create around our health issue needs to be directed to the real cause of what we experience and not to the fact we face what we call an unhealthy conditions.

It needs to be realized that there is a gift in pain and pain is often needed by our nonconscious mind get the attention of our conscious mind. The nonconscious will only "scream" as loud as is necessary to get our conscious mind’s attention. If we are not being awake and aware to what is happening in our life and open to feeling to know what experiences are serving or not serving us, we can expect to have pain in our life. The human experience includes pain and pain has its purpose. Whatever ritual(s) we create around the subject of healing and pain should address how we have not been awake and aware so as to cause ourselves the pain and/or what the pain is trying to communicate to us. The ritual(s) should also address our intention to use pain constructively in our life and us it as the gift that it is.

Since our inner world is reflected in the outer, the experiences we have had externally with our body reflect some type and kind of inner belief structure which gave rise to that experience. Some of the experiences have served us and others experiences did not. Any healing ritual should honor the body and the experiences that served us as in a thanksgiving for the experience. For the experiences that did not seem to serve us, the ritual should both (1) honor the body as a vehicle for experience and (2) address removing and/or changing the belief structure which may have lead to the experiences and releasing the energy in the body memories which may still be held by the body. Most importantly, for any experience we had, we need to open ourselves to what we feel and be willing to face the pain and allow the energy in the pain to dissipate.

For most of us, the body is the primary way we express and feel our pain and it needs to be the primary area of our focus. Physical Creation is about making what we think and believe a physical experience. Our body is the tool and vehicle we use to do this. For example, we may have a spiritual and emotional pain with a perfectly functional body but we are lead to suppress the pain by some physical experience. In doing so we can develop additions to something physical which can ultimately destroy the body while we try to numb, suppress or otherwise not feel the spiritual and emotional pain. In this regard, we must honor the body and address the areas in the body for which we have use the body to process our pain. There are a variety of ways to do this. Creating a healing prayer and a review of health/healing issues through a seven chakra review has been found helpful in this area.

Based on the review and exploration of the story we tell, drawing a life map, and similar activities, we need to explore our life to see where we have faced health issues. Consideration should be given to constructing a ritual or rituals to address and/or ferret out the root issue which gave rise to the health and related experiences and issues. The ritual(s) can generically address the healing of our being and/or each of the significant issues we uncover.

In our review we should identify anything that arise that may need to be addressed. The issue should be noted and placed in an appropriate category of what needs to be addressed. One or more category may be appropriate depending on the types and kinds of issues we have faced. In doing so we may being to see a reoccurring patter of issues. Each item should also be review for possible release, forgiveness, restitution, and petition. Attention should be given to capture any thoughts or feelings that rise in the healing issues being recalled. For specific types of illness, disease or traumatic conditions of the past consideration can be given to creating a "healing petition." That is, a very specific request for a healing.
