Fear of pain and suffering is probably one of the more prevalent fears we face. From a creativity perspective and how we create our experiences, pain is the result of holding onto something that must pass and be released. It is holding onto that which must be let go It is resisting that which must happen. The harder we hold, the more we resist, the more pain and suffering we experience. The key to dealing with fear of pain and suffering is to understand both the nature of fear and the nature of pain.

The issue with fear is that it is of the past. We cannot fear a true creative endeavor. We can only fear we will repeat the past. If we experienced pain in the past we can then do a hazards review on the pain and it associated fear and implement compensatory measure as appropriate to address the potential pain or suffering.

As for the pain and suffering, pain and suffering results from not facing the attachments we need to release. We say we fear the pain and suffering so, we avoid that which may cause pain. In reality we use the pain as a diversion and are focusing on the pain, rather than that which is causing the pain. When we accept that pain and suffering is caused by something that is held and must be let go, we can begin to look and discover the cause. If we set the intention to find the cause of our pain, we will do so. Much of what we hold onto is the expectation of the way we want things to be and we deny the reality of the situation at hand in doing so. It is a matter of accepting that we are the perfect expression on the physical plane of the beliefs we carry. We need to be thankful and be happy with what we have. If we don’t particularly like what we have, then we still need to claim our creative ability and creative power and to set the intention to surface and change the beliefs that are giving rise to the experience we have into beliefs that allow our experience something which better serves who and what we are.
