Creating is much like building any structure. To build any structure, building with mutually supportive parts is essential. Whenever we attempt to build any structure as in the figure below, whether it be a physical structure as simple as a pile of stones or a building or a bridge or some nonphysical or non tangible structure like an organization, a choreographed musical, or one’s spiritual life or some theory of how one will perceive reality, we will build up from fundamental principles or beliefs about the topic. These fundamental principles act as building blocks that we stack on upon the other to build what we desire. The more we can stack or build upon, or with, the building blocks we have the greater the structure we can build.

However, there will come a time that the building blocks we have cannot support building upon a certain point. To build beyond that point, we have to get a different type and kind of building block to build higher and bigger. The same is true if one tries to develop any ability whether it be an engineering skill, a musical skill, an athletic skill or a spiritual skill such as becoming mystic. One will start with some fundamental principles and build whatever skill and ability that is desired from those principles. When the limits of the building blocks have been reached, new building blocks must be found.

Creativity and developing our unlimited creativity is no different. When we allow our attention to be scattered because of our beliefs we don’t allow our creations to build on one another in a mutually supportive fashion. There are fundamental creative principles that are mutually supportive. They can can be used to expand our ability to unimaginable heights if we develops our creativity in an analogous fashion as if were trying to build some type of structure.

To build any structure, as a simple stone pyramid above, first there are fundamental building block or building stones that come together. Second, they need to be able to build upon each other. What we first need to do is to bring together or concentrate the fundamental build blocks of our creativity. That is, to bring together the focus of our attention and awareness. Then reconstitute it into a integrated structure as in the following figure. A concentrated focus of our attention and awareness is the first essential step in building our creativity.

Most of us have scattered and fragmented beliefs that do not allow for an integrated context and understanding as to how one creates the reality they experience. There is the need to pull together our beliefs and integrate them into a coherent and integrated context to access our creative potential. The figure to the left illustrates how we reconstitute our scattered attention and awareness into a focused intention to develop an integrated understanding. By use of some practice, such as contemplation, meditation, or a focused and directed study of creativity, we can concentrate their understanding by bringing the pieces of our scattered understanding into a coherent integrated understanding. As we do this, we are also focusing and concentrating our attention on creativity. As diagramed in the figure we move all the pieces together within a common awareness.

When these pieces are first brought together, there is a typical issue most individuals face in accessing their creativity. It is that we are not building with a firm set of interlocking and supportive creative principles. Rather, we have been using what ever is available. Most of us have pieced together whatever creative principles we have they best we can to create what we desire. Some are usually in conflict with each other because the come form different traditions or differing beliefs systems. For example, often religions principles conflict or at least do not support certain social practices.

What an individual may be able to build in their life is like our pyramid in first figure of non  interlocking principles above. It may be large, but it is not necessarily stable. Because the stones are not interconnected sufficiently they cannot support a large structure. The same is true for our creativity and what we create. We can only achieve so much in our creative efforts if we don’t have the correct interlocking creative principles. If we wish to build big, no matter what it is in our life, we need the proper set of building blocks that can support each other for whatever it is we wish to build.

Building with a properly designed and/or set of interlocking building blocks as demonstrate in the figure to the life as to what can be accomplished. With building blocks that are interlocking and/or supportive of each other one can build much larger and expansive structures. Additionally, the structures we build are more stable and can rise to much greater heights that with non-interlocking principles. In the ideal case, creating and or building from firm, interlocking and supportive fundamental principles allows one to manifest a structure of any size that they desire to build.

The question becomes, “What is the most supportive interlocking principles one can have in their life for what they wish to create?” One of the most fundamental and essential principles for any creation is an understanding of one’s true nature. As such it becomes extremely import to explore that nature at every level of our being. It requires us to become intimate with ourselves spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically. The reason why our true nature is so important to our creative efforts is because we are the creator and any creation we manifest is reflect of how well we know ourselves. The greater clarity we have about ourselves the greater we can focus our attention and awareness on what we desire to create and the greater the energy we have available to create.

When we have an integrated understanding, there is another added feature to our creative efforts as demonstrated in the figure to the left. Humanity has demonstrated again and again building with interlocking and integrated principles allows for tremendous creations. When one utilized both interlocking and integrate principles that can cut across disciplines or into different areas, the possibilities become endless. Whether it be to build a bridge, a nuclear power plant, a chemical refinery or a tall sky scraper, each will use the same basic type and kind of masonry/construction principles and building blocks that when into our pyramid in the first figure of non interlocking principles. However, those masonry principles are integrated with a myriad of other principles such a suspension properties for a bridge, nuclear fission or fusion for the reactor, chemical principles for the refinery and steel girder construction for the sky scraper.

So too with non physical creations. In obtaining a set of supportive and interlocking principles, one can build upward to greater and greater heights to what individuals would call “spiritual heights,” or downward for that matter deeper and deeper within the nature of our own being. As one expands and grows in understanding the principles that govern what they are trying to build there is nothing that cannot be built. If you look at the world around you, no matter what area you look, the foundations of all the structures that you see are build on a set of fundamental interlocking principles.

When building with interlocking principles one is open to the world of unlimited possibilities and unlimited creativity. Building from integrated and interlocking principles, takes us even a step further into our creative endeavors. So it is incumbent upon us to create a set of integrated and interlocking principles within ourselves if hope to access and release your unlimited creativity. The only way we can do that is to explore what we currently carry within our beliefs and the resulting beliefs structure to see if it gives us the foundation for what we desire to create.

In beginning such an exploration of our belief structure the greatest tool we can develop is to become mindful and aware of the thoughts we have and decisions we make. Then pull the string as to why those thoughts and those decisions as opposed to any others.
