In may ways the issues of God and
sex are related as opposites ends of a spectrum and ultimately
cannot be separated from each other for each deal with the creative
power to create life. At one end of the spectrum lies what is
perceived as external
creative power/Creative Power which people interpret in some
concept of God. At the other end lies creative power as perceived
internally. Yet the two come together to create life whether that
life is within an individual or outside the individual. The creative
connection between the two, how they are related and how they impact
accessing and releasing our inherent unlimited creativity was the
focus of the second half of the
journey into exploring creativity after the author experienced
the
Ultimate Accident. As discussed in the topic “In
a Box,” in many ways the second half of the journey was trying
to figure out how to explain and properly present these topics from
a
creativity perspective and in a way that will free our creative
spirit rather than bind and capture it.
The Ultimate Accident was a
turning point. In a moment everything became different and was
seen differently. In particular, the focus shifted from trying to
see physical Creation and the world of spiritually as separate as
the author was enculturated to believe. It was shifted to seeing a
seamless flow of energy that had an inner and an outer expression.
It was much like a lava tube flowing underwater from a volcano where
a hard outer shell is formed with a hot flowing stream of molten
lava inside continually pushing the length of the tube outward into
expression as a solid form. In particular the author became aware of
a
creative spirit, a unique individualized flow of energy within
each of us that was unfolding into the expression of our life. Yet
this creative spirit was also part of a lager flow of energy of
which it is an individualized part.
What the author came to understand through the
Ultimate Accident and the experience of the Source of Creation
was a flow of energy gives rise to an inner and outer expression.
What we perceive as the outward flow of energy, the harder outer
shell, is what give rises to our life as we experienced it as an
individual human and includes both our body and the world around us.
What animates our life and the world we experience is the inner
flow. It is unseen because of the outer shell. It is much like a
lava tube where the outer shell of harden lava prevents one from
seeing inside. But we can nevertheless feel the flow and the
direction in which it is traveling. We can feel its warmth when life
is present and it coldness in its absence.
What many perceive as the outer creative power animating the world
actually arises from this inner flow of energy. What we perceive as
our inner creative power is the individualized flow of energy that
give rise to our individual form as a human being. This inner and
outer
creative power/Creative Power come from the same
source/Source. The two come together at the Source of Creation
when life is generated for all life is is a new flow of energy. To
generate a flow of energy that gives rise to a new outward form, one
must go back to the Source from where each flow originates. It is
here the inner creative power and outer creative power come together
and the door to Creation is open. The individualized flow of energy
that we experience as our life returns to the Source of Life to
create a new life both in our death and in sexuality. In many ways
sexuality is a death for part of us dies and is reborn in the new
life that is created. If one is aware, awake and is paying attention
when they enter these states, one can see into what is giving rise
to all that exists and see how and where the flows of energy are
leading.
It is here an important realization need to be made and the link
between the outer
creative power/Creative Power which many see and interpret as
God and the inner creative power/Creative Power, that God within,
can be understood. Our ability to create and make things happen is
done through our ability to access the flow of energy that animates
our life. The more passion we have the more energy we have to create
and make things happen in the world. That flow of energy flows from
the
source/Source of our being. We can create a tremendous about in
our life by simply tapping into this flow of energy within our being
and never return to the source. But what we create will not be a new
life within ourselves or in within the world. We will simply operate
from an existing flow of energy and the past that created it.
Creation in turn is the superposition of all the existing flows of
energy.
To create a new life whether within ourselves or externally, we need
to access a new or different flow of energy. To do that we need to
go back to the
source/Source of life. It is here where the externally perceived
creative power/Creative Power and internally perceived creative
power/Creative power come together and why sexuality becomes such an
issue. Sexuality is the vehicle we use to return to the
source/Source to create life and create a new life within ourselves.
What has been observed from a creativity perspective is that if we
desire to create a new life in any way and break with the past, we
can expect sexuality and/or the issue of God or spirituality to rise
as an issue in our creative endeavor. In this case the sexuality and
an understanding about God/spirituality is needed to create that new
life for a new flow of energy needs to be created. If we are content
to create with what is and rearrange the pieces, then sexuality and
God/spirituality will not become an issue. If sexuality and/or
God/spirituality arises in a creative endeavor and we are not
seeking to create a new life in ourselves or in the world, then it
is most probably tied to how our sexuality and God/spirituality have
become bound or entwined with our creative power by our past
decisions and choices. As we access our creative power to create
what we desire in this case sexuality and/or God/spirituality arises
simply because they are pulled along from the past and may or may
not actually be blocking the expression of our creativity. In any
case, if we are not willing to face what arises in a creative
endeavor, we will thwart or stifle our creation.
