Amends

Implementing Creative Step/Guideline #9

Creative Step/Guideline #9

Background

Taking inventory

Making amends

Ask your intuitive guidance as to the amends to make

Follow the direction of you intuitive guidance

Creative Step/Guideline #9 (Top): Make a list of all the people, organizations and/or particular perspective or views of life to which you looked for guidance and direction, and/or looked to them to act first, rather than looking within and doing what you yourself needed/need to do. You have to be willing to make the amends for what you had thought about them and/or yourself for them not acting as you wanted and expected them to act. To know what to do, review each of these and ask your intuitive guidance where you need to make the amends and what must be done and then act as lead by your intuitive guidance. As you act on your intuition, understand because of the way mind characterizes what it experiences based on the past, your intuitive guidance will not necessarily tell you the correct action to take but rather it provides you the correct direction you need to travel in action on the intuitive guidance you get.

Background (Top)

Key to the any creative process is that you have to lead the creative process with the necessary internal changes before you can expect the external to change. Most look to the external world to change first and then they allow themselves to be held creatively hostage by all the external conditions that are not changing as you think the need to change. Often we response to the external world with a non-constructive attitude because the world and others are not doing what we want or what we think they need to do. Here again, the ego must be harnessed. You must look to see how your ego and your belief structure needs to change and what you must do first. Then, and only then, one can expect the external world to being to move in the direction of what one desires to create.

Taking inventory (Top)

Make a list of all the people, organizations and/or particular perspective or views of life to which you looked for guidance and direction, and/or looked to them to act first, rather than looking within and doing what you yourself needed/need to do

The single most important point you need to know about yourself and others is you act based on what you truly know and understand. If you really understood and knew differently, you would act differently. People do the best they know how to do with what they have. They may talk as thought they would act differently, but it is only talk. One’s actions speak to what one really knows and understands. It one really thought it was in their best interest to act differently, they would. You do the same thing because you act on what you know and understand as you know and understand it. People are doing the best they can poor as your judgement is about what they do. Nevertheless, the do the best they can do. You can’t expect someone to do better unless you are willing to educate them such that they can see and know differently to be able to act differently.

So, start with your parents and/or early care givers. Realize they did the best they could with what they understood and had available. It doesn’t matter how much they had available to them or how well educated they may have been. They, as you, do what you do based on what you understand. If they understood differently, they would have acted differently. Remember the story of the Eaglet referenced under Creative Step/Guideline #4. Then start remembering all the others in your life. As you do this exercise, you will remember others that you have forgotten about. Eventually, you will get to a point where you understand no one views the world as you do and you can’t expect them to act on how you see things. If you truly know something must be done or you know better than another, you will have to act first and/or act to educate the others as to why what you know is better. Of course, that may only be your opinion.

Making amends (Top)

You have to be willing to make the amends for what you had thought about them and/or yourself for them not acting as you wanted and expected them to act.

When we don’t get what we want, we can be very damning. If the Universe honored all our thoughts, and we could look into Hell, we would find it is populated full of people condemned by others for what was not done or given to the other. In other words, hell would be populated by those who did not meet the expectation of others. It would also be full of those who could not meet their own expectations.

The amends you would need to make in a majority of the time has nothing to do with the other person. Usually, what you think you would have to do, or should do, is more ego based than appropriate. Most often you don’t need to forgive them or ask forgiveness or say you are sorry. Also, asking for forgiveness or saying you are sorry is meaningless unless you really change what you do and how and what you think. Otherwise in the same circumstances, you will do the same thing over again. Rather, you have to go inside and see why you expected the individual to act other than the way they did. What expectations were you holding about them? Why do you think they should have acted other than they did?

Remember, you acted in the best way you are capable of acting and you know how to act. You can judge yourself and say you could have acted differently. But you are only lying to yourself. If you could have acted differently, you would have. That is why so many talk about life being lessons learned. Only after the fact and we have had certain experiences can we see and understand we really did have options and could have acted differently but that is in hindsight. Only when you move your hindsight forward can see that you can act differently in any situation and only then can you being to act differently. Even if you don’t see any options you will act differently for you will know that options do exist that better serve you and you will being to look for them. Until then you will act in a way that you do not realize you have options and the situation at hand may be, or can become, different than you think it is.

So too the other. They act on what they know and can act no differently than they do. You can not hold them accountable for your experiences and how you see things. If they understood what you wanted them to understand, the way you understand, then they would act differently and more in line with what you desire. But they don’t. Rather they do the best they can with what they have.

So, most of the amends you will need to make are inside your own beliefs and really has little to do with the other. They are only the occasion for you to explore inside yourself. Only when you do that inner amendments can you being to see what really needs to be done in making amendments with another. You will be quite surprised at what you are lead to do.

In looking to others to act first as opposed to doing what we need to do, we gave away an aspect of our creative power. We need change our beliefs that another or others need to act first before we can achieve what we desire. To call back or reconstitute your creative power, for all the people, organizations or views of life to which you gave away your power, (1) find an appropriate symbol that represents to you that person, organization or view of life. The symbol may be simply a drawing, picture or a name on a piece of paper. Place the symbols into a common area and see yourself collecting and calling back the power you gave away and see this common area as the centering and focus of your creative power. (2) For each of these, describe how you think and/or feel you gave your power way to them/it. (3) For each of these, ask your intuitive guidance what you need to do (what does it look like) to call back your creative power that you have given away to another or to something other than yourself. Honor the intuitive guidance you get through a suorephex, that is, by turning the intuitive guidance into a surrogate or real physical experience.

Ask your intuitive guidance as to the amends to make (Top)

To know what to do, review each of these and ask your intuitive guidance where you need to make the amends and what must be done and then act as lead by your intuitive guidance

For any situation or condition you feel that amends need to be made, ask your intuitive guidance as to what you should do. Remember, your mind only knows the past and is what caused the situation to arise in the first place. Hence, it cannot give you the appropriate actions. If it could have done so, it would already have done it. Ask your intuitive guidance what you need to do, if anything, to make the amends to yourself and/or another. Then Honor the intuitive guidance.

Follow the direction of you intuitive guidance (Top)

As you act on your intuition, understand because of the way mind characterizes what it experiences based on the past, your intuitive guidance will not necessarily tell you the correct action to take but rather it provides you the correct direction you need to travel in action on the intuitive guidance you get.

Always remember, for whatever intuitive guidance you get, mind characterizes what it sees you need to do based on your past. What it presents to you may or may not be correct and may or may not be the final thing you need to do. However, it does provide the direction you need to go to do the correct thing. To honor and follow your intuitive guidance takes you in the correct direction. As you complete or act to complete what you intuitive guidance suggests, you will get additional insights and guidance as needed. It is much like walking into a building to find a particular room. The first thing you need to go is enter the building. You must do that or you will never get to the room you seek. However, entering the building does not get you there. You still need to find your way to the room so you will need additional insights. But you can’t know where you need to look until you enter the building. So it is essential to honor one’s intuitive guidance as it arises.
