You have a free will and the
choice is yours at to what you do. You are free to choose as you
wish. There are no judgments on what you choose, but there are
consequences. Look to see what the consequences may be and ask
yourself if they serve or do not serve what you desire to create.
Then allow effectiveness to be your measure of truth. See that what
you do is effective at creating a what serves the depth and breadth
of who and what you are.
There is an old Arab proverb “trust in God but tether your camel.”
The issue here is that there are things for which the external
creative power, which many call God, is responsible for doing and
things for which you are responsible for doing and you can’t confuse
the two. What needs to be explored here is how your concept of God
is, or isn’t, confused with the Creative Power of the Universe that
you need to utilize for your creative endeavor and the unique aspect
of the Creative Power that lies within your own being. You need to
explore if you are asking God to do what you need to do and
attempting to do things that the external creative power needs to
do. From a creativity perspective, many see God as Santa Claus -
that is, they create a list of things they want done and expect the
list to be delivered much the way a child expects Santa Claus to
bring them their list of presents. Still other see God almost as a
servant who is suppose to answer to every beck and call we make. Few
see a God giving us a free will to create whatever we choose to
create and Who stands back without any judgment whatsoever on what
we create. If there were any judgment on what we created we would
not have a free will. We would not be free to choose and, in many
ways we would only be puppets on a string.
An example as to the type of discussion you need to face is similar
to the following. Although this discussion is about an illness it
applies to any experience you have. You can take the position that
it is God’s will, not your will, that you have an illness or
physical condition that you do not like enter your life. If you
accept that it is God’s will, then you are Its mercy and also have
to accept God created your body and your being and Its purpose for
doing so. As such, God has needs and wants for your body and your
being which may not be yours. The question is, “Are you doing what
is your responsibility to give to both the body and your being what
they need at each and every level to have them properly function to
do God’s will. You will need to ask your self if you have done
everything perfectly correct to ensure their proper functioning and
the illness/undesired physical condition you face is something you
must surrender to as it exists, or you did not surrender as
necessary and caused the illness/undesired physical condition to
arise?
Now if you desire to give to your body and your being everything
they needs to do God’s will, to whom do you go to ask what you need
to do for your body and your being to give them what they need at
each and every level of your being to make them feel alive with
life? You need to consider that in the awareness that only you
inhabit your body and your being, who knows better than you what
your body and your being needs? No one experiences what you
experience. How does anyone other that you know what you need to
make you feel alive with life? If you truly believe God is
responsible for creating you, both your body and your being, you
have to surrender in all ways to the purpose of your being that you
were uniquely created to experience. You cannot do what you have
been told about yourself nor can you serve the role that was given
to you by your society or anyone else. You have to be about the
business and role your Creator has given you. If you have not
surrendered to this role, you have to explore if you have been using
your body and your being for other than which it has been created.
You have to take responsibility for creating the conditions you now
face. You may look to God to cure you, and in some way comes in and
rescue you, but you still have to take responsibility for what you
yourself has created. You can’t ask God to do what you are
responsible for doing and creating.
If you believe God Created your body and your being and has given
you a free will to do what you wish, then, here again, you have to
take responsibility for what you have created. God will not come in
and violate your free will to cure you of something you have choose
to create. In either case you are faced with need to understand what
choices you have made that have caused you to have the illness that
you do and then either surrender to what is or go back and recreate
your life and undo the earlier decisions you made the best you can
to create something that serves you more to your liking. The issue
here is you will have to decided for yourself how you are going to
view God and live your life accordingly in all ways at every level
of your being.
The recommendation made here is two fold. One recommendation is that
you live your truth about God based on what you have experienced,
not what someone has told you to believe. You can do what another
recommends but look to the experience you have as to whether or not
what you are doing serves or doesn’t serve you and your creative
needs. See if what you do allows you to feel alive with life and
grow into a fullness of life within your being.
The second recommendation made here is that you separate your
beliefs and concepts about God from your beliefs and concepts about
the creative power of Creation. In the same way many countries have
separate church and state, it is recommended you separate what you
believe about how Creation came into existence, and how you
experience Creation. You need to look carefully at your own
experiences as to whether or not there is an entity that controls
Creation and prevents you from accessing the creative power to
create whatever you desire. You may find you have more creative
power and ability that you ever imagined, taught that you had,
and/or given the space to experience. Do not look to God to do your
creative work and do not expect your creative work to tell you
anything about God. Just give yourself permission to explore your
creativity in whatever form it takes and do what you need to do to
create what you choose to create. In dong so, you will find for
yourself what the mystics have tried to explain in the variety of
concepts of God that they have given.
