In working with individuals and
their creativity there is an observation that has been made about a
process which occurs within consciousness. The process can best be
described as the blossoming and ripening of the self/Self. It is an
awakening of profound proportions. To say it is an awakening to
one’s identity as a creator and as the creator of their experience
and the reality of those experiences is an understatement. It is
much more profound than even that.
For the longest time the author was puzzled when he worked with
individuals. One of the more profound aspects of experiencing the
Source of Creation was the compassion, empathy, desire to share and
willingness to create the space for another’s creative spirit to
freely unfold. Yet, when he worked with individuals, few seemed to
go to that depth and level of experience.
Over time, he came to realize that this cannot occur until there is
a ripening of the self. In essence one must first learn to embrace
the self and become true to who and what they are. This means they
have to become like the scarab. The scarab, the dung beetle, was
ancient spiritual symbol for it recycles the waste/by products of
life to create a new life. Each must learn to recycle their life
into a form that serves the truth of who and what they are. This
means we must wash ourselves clean of much, if not all, the
enculaturated programming we received and deal with all the pain
that caused us to shut down the free unfoldment of our creative
spirit. We must recycle that programming and pain using all that
allows us to grow in our own truth and dismiss the remainder. After
clearing away all the programming and pain that does not allow us to
live true to who and what they are, we need to be allowed to express
and unfold our truth. It is about birthing that truth of who and
what we are.
However, birthing the truth is only part of the process. One must
grow into that truth and it must mature, blossom and bring forth the
fruit of one’s truth. Until this occurs, one cannot take the next
step and birth the Self. That Self, in turn, needs to grows and
blossom as the unique creation of Self we incarnated to be.
The period during which the self ripens is a rather narcissistic
period. One must and will give to themselves. They will even give to
themselves to the extent they may force others to leave their life
and/or push others out of their life. They need to be alone. Not
necessarily removed from society but alone in their own truth. They
must be allowed to become the truth that they are and unfold that
truth in the world. Only after this occurs can the Self be birthed
into one’ s life.
It is the birth of the Self that one experiences a compassion and
empathy for another. Until the self ripens and blossoms what one
gives is not compassion and empathy although the mind my think it is
doing so. When the self is ripening, one will protect the self. They
may give and appear compassionate and they may feel another’s pain
and be empathic. But they will not give to the point of their own
death and the death of the self. However, when the self ripens and
the Self is born, one will give of their own life without question
They will freely and willing become the food for another to nourish
another.
In looking at the
creative process, the ripening of the self is actually the
maturing of the creative masculine aspect of being. It is about
developing the awareness of the truth of one’s being and developing
the strength of will to live that truth in the world. It is about
learning to become true to oneself and live that truth. It is about
being able to thrust out into the world being that truth. The
ripening of the Self is really about the maturing of the
nurturing creative feminine aspect of being. It is about being
able to become whatever is needed for the creation/Creation to
unfold. It is to become one with the Creation/creation.
One thing that is important here is that when the Self is born, the
self does not go away. In fact, the self continues to be nourished
and served. What changes is the self no longer needs to be protected
for it knows it is one with the Self and it is the creator and can
recreate itself at will. There is no magical powers, no particular
awareness or way of seeing Creation, and nothing out of the ordinary
when the Self is born. Rather, what changes is the ability to
sacrifice the self to nourish the unfoldment of another. In
particular, to nourish Creation itself. This possible because the
self knows that it is the Self and is the creator of its experiences
and the reality of those experiences. In this awareness there is the
freedom to become whatever is require to become for the new
creation.
In the awareness of the Self, there is no fear. There may be fear
that the body can still be hurt in an accident and the like.
However, that fear only assists the self and Self from becoming
careless and to deal with the real hazards we faces. The fear is not
debilitating and/or limits our creativity. Although the Self
realizes it is the creator, it also realizes it is to fulfill the
incarnation it chose to do within the bounds of the experience
it desired to have. If it desired to be human, it will have a human
experiences as the collective interprets being human. If it desires
to have a superhuman experience, it will access such ability to give
it such an experience. The Self respects its own creation. The self
does not necessarily respect its own creations or those of the Self
until it blossoms and has compassion and empathy for itself. It
needs to be realized one cannot give what one does not have. One
cannot give compassion and empathy to another until they have it for
themselves.
One challenging question is, “Can one accelerate the ripening
process?” The answer is yes. But one must want to surrender to what
the Self chooses to do and be willing to allow the self to
continually die to the needs of the Self.
So how does one accelerate the ripening process? The answer lies
within one’s own being. We simply need to ask our intuitive
guidance, “What must I do, what must I become to cause my self to
ripen and allow the Self to be born into my being?” You then must
honor your intuitive guidance to do whatever it calls you to do. In
almost all cases it will not be what you want to do or would like to
do. But in the end it will be something that gives a profound inner
satisfaction. But the first lesson you will have to face is to
become narcissistic to your true self and the essence of your being.
You will have to embrace your creative spirit and your unique
creativity and allow it to unfold in your life. For most of us, that
means getting in touch with something we lost many years ago in
childhood or early adult life. That is, the ability to enter the
most creative state of being.
