In talking about creating a state of creative play, one question that arises is, “How in the world can we possibly think that the most creative state looks like the play of a very young child for even if it were true, how do we return to such a state. The play of child between one to two years old has no cares or worries. Everything is taken care of for them. They only need to grow and to play. Nothing is expected of them other than to grow. How can adult ever be in such a state?”

The key to accessing creative play (Top)

The answer is that as an adult we cannot reach that playful state as that as a one or two year old. However, we can access equivalent states if we are willing to be child like. Or, from a more adult perspective, to be the Fool described in the esoteric literature and characterized in the Tarot deck of card who is seen or characterized as being very child like.

But what does it really mean to be child like? What does it mean to become this fool? We say that a child is innocent. However the play of a child at one to two years old has not yet developed sufficient conscious understanding to be the opposite of innocence. Innocence is a judgement of one who know its opposite. So a child is not really being innocent. The child is rather just being who they are and true to themselves in all ways. This is the key to access creative play and the most powerful creative state of being. It is to become true to ourselves in all ways.

Similarly, we say the child is playful. Yet the child has no concept of work or play. A child at this age does what the child feels like doing. Again the judgment of what is play and what is work is only made by one who has experienced the separation. They have experienced separation from what they are lead to do by their controlling mind to do and what their heart leads them to do. It is work when we push against the natural flow of the situation.

We can go on and on with this discussion for almost any descriptive term we can give to the play of this very young child but the child has no awareness of what we are talking about. A child is just being who they are. The child is not thinking and judging at one to two years in the way we adults or even an older child uses our mind. The child may have a few ideas of what they like and don’t like at this time, but overall, the child is just being who and what they are, as they are. They are simply being true to themselves.

As an adult, to just be who we are and what we are means that we have to be literally out of our mind as to: who we think you are; how we think we have to live our life; how we think we have to behave; and how we think the world works. However this does not necessarily mean that we are outside our ego We will still have likes and dislikes that are unique to our own being and that will still be fully present in us.

To be out of mind is not the same as being crazy or insane although we refer to some one who is crazy or insane as “out of their mind.” To be out of mind is to be out of that rational and analytical approach to life. It means letting go of who we think we are and all that you have been taught to believe and only be with exactly what we are feeling. That in itself is very frightening for most people for the mind desires to control. To be out of mind means that we have to be out of control in some way.

Again the expression “out of control” has been given very negative connotation. We say something is out of control when it is dangerous and can cause harm such a car that is out of control. However, if you look at the actions and play of a young child of one to two years old they are out of control in the sense they freely move from one thing to another. They are drawn to whatever attracts their attention. They are not focus in, or on, specific things. They are free to move form one thing to another.

As adults, we tend to fear this kind of state of being for a variety of reasons. The particulars of which are unique to the individual although there are general statements that can be made. There are two most common generalities that we finds why individuals fear this state. The first is because of the early memories we had as a child while in this state. Some of these experiences are traumatic types of experiences, The second is the enculturated ego. That is, who you have come to believe you are. The ego is afraid it will die if our consciousness steps out of its enculturated ego. Unless we feel that we are in a very safe space, we are normally very reluctant to even begin to go to such a state where we consciously go against what the ego desires. The reason for the existence of both of these types of fears within us will have to be addressed in some way if we are going to regain our creative play and return to the most creative state of being.

It has been found this creative out of mind state is not so difficult to routinely achieve and enter as one suspects. In fact we do it all the time. The difficulty is in sustaining this state of being. The important point to realizes is that the longer we can sustain the state, the more powerful the creative experience.

Accessing our creative passion (Top)

Accessing creative play is about accessing our creative passion. Our creative spirit, our creative passion and are creative play are all integrally linked. In essence each is a different facet of the same crystal. To be able to fully embrace the play of what is symbolized in our heart is to allow the free unfoldment of our creative spirit, our creative passion and to be fully engaged in creative play moving to that most creative state of being.

In terms of accessing and releasing our creative passion, we do not need to explore our whole childhood, or what one calls past life memories. There is only one aspect of our childhood and/or our past that we to be understand. That is, how and why we lost our ability to engage in the spontaneous innocent childlike play of childhood to explore and discover the entire depth and breadth of our creativity, creative power and creative ability. If we set the intention to return to spontaneous childlike play and we act in a childlike innocence to explore and discover our creative passion in childlike play, we will surface all the obstacles that do not allow us to engage in such play and simultaneously access our creative passion.

What we will find is that while the obstacles to our play surface to our play, our intuitive guidance will feel free to provide us with the images, thoughts and feelings that will guide us through the obstacle. Our body wisdom wants us to become what we need to become, and have the experiences you incarnated to have for they are what give us life and brought us into life. Our body wisdom and intuitive guidance will effectively guide us there if we allow them. The easiest and quickest way to allow them to guide us is to enter, or at least attempt to enter, that state of innocent child like play. But that is not something we can do with our mind. Rather, we will have to lose ourselves in play that directs us toward creative play.

We will find in exploring our creative passion that we don’t have to explore our entire past or our infinite subconscious. We only need to address and work through all those obstacles that block us being our creative passion. Then we will be able to create that most powerful creative state. That state can then be used to reclaim and reconstitute any aspect of our energy or our being that remains fragmented. Innocent childlike play then becomes a tool we can use to access our unlimited creativity and our creative passion whenever we wish. It really isn’t necessary to completely consolidate our scattered and fragmented power. Rather, we just need to become true to who and what we are.

There is nothing wrong with the physical experience. It is only one experience of an infinite experiences that are available to us. If we can be happy with what is as it is, knowing we can change what is whenever we wish, we will no long be bound by the physical world and we will come to the realization there is no need to transcend the physical. If we cannot be happy with what is here in the physical world, we will not be happy with what is in any reality. In addition, we will find ourselves coming back to the physical experience to learn the lessons in creativity as to why we cannot be happy with what is.

To learn to be happy with is and regain our ability to play spontaneously as that innocent child to reenter a state of play, five ways have been observed that work. However, each of them start with both a desire to enter creative play and/or create freedom for our creative spirit and give our creative spirit permission to come out and play. An adult consent form has been created to help create this first step. It is recommend one read and sign the adult consent form or draft an equivalent statement. It is in understanding that signing the adult consent and release form as a ritual and symbol of something much larger we enter one of the more powerful forms of rituals in which we can engage.

Five ways to reenter creative play (Top)

There were five ways that have been observed to worked to enter creative play. The approach is to create the situation as described and then allow ourselves to become playfully lost in what we do.

Create an experiment
(Top): The first way is to design and perform an experiment to check or verify our beliefs or understanding we have about Creation and how we create. It is to establish a set of initial starting conditions and allow the experiment to take a natural flow observing the outcome as it flows. Creating an experiment is an excellent way to just observe to see what truths which are revealed. Or, the experiment can be used to verify something we suspected as being true but are unsure. In either case, the experimental conditions give the freedom to be out of mind and the need to control what was happening for the experiment directions our actions, not our mind.

Find or become a rainmaker
(Top): A second method is to become a rainmaker. In essence, this refers to an individual so centered and sure of the truth within their being and their ability to live it, that they create a space of truth around themselves that allow the Divine to manifest in the way the Divine wishes to manifest. In being true to themselves they can create a space in any environment in which they find themselves. In doing so, they can create an environment such that another individual can feel so safe and secure such that they are free to be who they are and move to that state of creative play. The problem is it is very difficult to find a rainmaker. Very few individual have such an ability. It is not because we all cannot become rainmakers. Rather it is because of the work involved to hold such a space. So, it may be necessary for us to become the rainmaker. We cannot give what we do not have. In becoming a rainmaker who can create the space for creative play of another, we must first be able to create the space within ourselves and for ourselves. In doing so, we find our own freedom and are free to be in our creative play.

Be consumed by passion
(Top): A third way is to be so consumed by a passion or a love of some thing such that nothing else in the world seems to matter. The state of being in passion is the one state that most makes us look crazy or totally outside of our mind. Rationality and logic seem to evaporate. As a minimum when we are in passion will be out of our enculturated mind and who we think they are for the passion is what leads, not our mind. Being in passion does not necessarily mean being in a sexual frenzy or something similar. The characteristics of the classic “Nerd,” as are many child prodigies, are typical of one so consumed in the passion of their own world they are lost to the ways of others. For all practical purposes, nothing else in the world exist except their passion. They are out of mind following their passion wherever it take them. In general, this is exactly why so many fear passion. Being in passion takes us out of or mind and outside the world of others. When we are in passion we are not easily controlled the way the analytical and logical enculturated mind wishes to work, nor the way society desire us to be..

Hold a clear intention for a creative endeavor
(Top): The fourth way is through holding a clear intention for our life or to achieve a particular end. Clear intention can best be described as a focused play. We hold very clearly in our mind where we wish to go but we leave our mind to surrender to the flow of energy and leave the path entirely up to the energy of the situation. We only ask ourselves how each of the choices we make helps, hinders or is neutral in our progress towards our intention. Obviously, we make the choice that helps us achieve our intention as often as we can with the neutral choice being the preferred choice over any choice which takes us away from what we desire.

Over time we make more and more choices in favor of our intention. This is done usually by eliminating the ones that are clearly hindering our progress. Then as the hindrances become less and less we start look more carefully at the neutral choices shifting as many as possible in the direction of our intention. Over time, our life is consumed by this intention. Analogously, we essentially take ourselves out of the world and placed ourselves into a specific room build around our intention so that are then free to be lead to what ever catches our attention and the next thing that needs to be addressed can rise to meet us.

Clear intention with diversion
(Top): A fifth way is through the use of clear intention coupled with diversion. We set an intention and go into a state of play and do something completely different that what our intention would suggest. Yet we always hold to the intention. Then in the spontaneity of the moment, the next things that needs to be addressed relative to our intention surfaces in the order of priority. We only need to be observant to catch the insights. In this process we really only need to address the next thing that arises before us and see how it relates to our intention.

In this fifth way, miracles, synchronicity, chance meetings, what every we like to call them, seems to be the mode of operation. It is as though the universe does the work for us. In this fifth way it is best to use a partner who can play with us but their focus in on observing and listening to us such that they help us to capture the insights as they arise. With the help of another we are not overly distracted by the diversion such that we get totally lost in the diversion.

Obviously, this fifth approach is more powerful the more we are capable of being mindful and aware of our thoughts and what we are encountering in life. In this fifth approach, there will still be the mundane that we need to attend but much of the work is eliminated. The use of diversion with clear intention is very much like the old Arabic saying “Trust in God but tether you camel.” If we tend to the things that we need to do, the rest will be done for us. More often than not, we spend enormous time and energy in life focusing on what is not our responsibility.

What diversion in play does is that it allows our attention to be drawn to that part of our life experiences that are calling for attention in the moment that will lead us to our intention. Usually what needs to be done next to manifest our intention within the natural flow and unfoldment of that intention is not something on which we would choose or think to focus if we used the traditional narrow and controlled focus that we have been taught in life. The reasons for this is that we do not have the wisdom of the universe consciously available to us to know what to control when we choose our focus on what we think is the next step. Mind only knows the past. A creative endeavor takes us into the unknown. When we are focused on what we think is the next step, we are not able to see the natural flow path for events for mind overlays the past rather than allowing us to see the truth of what is.

The balancing act in creation (Top)

Clear intention in both the fourth and fifth ways discussed is sort of a controlled play. We allow ourselves to play and move freely and creatively in those areas that help our intention but consciously act on the information or situations that come to us and choose to step in and change the hindrances that may appear. It is a very fine balancing act because the same control that we use to remove our hindrance can be used to control the things that are helping us. When we start to control the things that are helping us, we stifle the energy and impose expectations.

In this approach we dance between and intense focus and total distraction. We only need to understand what actions we take support our intention. We only need to ask ourselves “What action do I need to take to support my intention” and then fully step into the action losing ourselves in the action. Stifling the energy of play bring us back to the issues of how we lost the ability to play and being in the most creative state. In understanding how we lost it, it gives some ideas as to how to recover it.

Recovering what we lost (Top)

Exactly how we lost our ability to be creative play, fail to allow our creative spirit to freely express itself, fail to live our truth, avoid living what is symbolized in our heart, and/or fear living and expressing our creative passion is unique to each of us. What exactly we need to do retain our ability will be similar unique. In working with individuals to regain their ability to creatively play there are several topics and issue seem to routinely arises. The following are topic provides a list of available topics on play and discuss some of the more reoccurring issues.

Topics on or about play and creative play

Moving to regain what was lost (Top)

One point that needs to be realized about the loss of play is that more often than not we stepped out of our play to satisfy the people in our life. This is very important to realize because the people who are currently in our life are based on who we currently are and how we currently perceived ourselves. As we explore our creativity going to deep creative states of being and learn to use the creative we access, we will become different. As we become different, some of those individuals currently in our life may not like who and what we are becoming. It is recommended the following type of intention be set. Tell the Universe, God, the Creative Powers that be in whatever way we understand, “As I become different, those who do not like what I am becoming are gently guided to where they are safe and secure.” Then, trust that those who do not like what we are becoming will leave our life for some reason. Those that stay, even if they complain about what is happening to us, do not ultimately oppose what we are becoming. In fact, they may be looking to us as an example of what is possible to guide them into their own creative power.
