There is a quirk in any concept of God that few realized. Whatever we believe and however we look at it, something gave rise to the human being. Whatever created the human being or caused the human being to come into existence existed before any human mind could comprehend it existed as a mind. We need to understand that whatever created humanity, we have created a concept of that Creator created by our mind. Because our mind exists as a result of the Creator, mind as we know it will never be able to fully understand the Creator. The author Carolyn Myss said it best in one of her lectures, "God created man in His image and man has returned the favor." That is, whatever concept of God we look at, it is a concept created by humans and does not and cannot accurately describe who or what this Creators and/or the may be the desires of the Creator. However, we can look at Creation to see what Creation has or is revealing about the Creator. On this point it needs to be noted that visions of mystics and the like that mystical, spiritual or religious traditions use to describe God and lie at the core of their foundation are no different. There is no doubt the mystics which have the vision have experienced a profound creative energy. However, however mind described what it experienced is only based on mind’s past which is very finite. A tradition description of what is encountered in such an experience and descries the problem of mind is found in the story of "Moses and the dancing light." Any mind, mystic or otherwise, can only characterize what it experiences based on the experience it has had. Humanity has learned to use the lessons learned of others (when it chooses to do so) and to communicate aspects of what individuals experience into a collective whole through writing, art and the like. Nevertheless, we still only know what we have experienced. When we are faced with something beyond what we have experienced we cannot, and will, not accurately descried what we experience until we get the minimum set of experience to do so. What we need to understanding is that any concept of God as we know it and understand it is a creation of our mind. We do not look at Creation or the Creator for what it really is. We are like the physicists at the turn of the twentieth century described in the topic "The Bohr Challenge" who had a mind set as to how they thought Nature worked. Bohr gave them a way to step out of that mind set. Creation/creation is not done alone. It takes another to call forth our creative spirit. That other can be a person, an experience or even a concept which we project outward that we think is real. The nature of Physical Creation is designed to call forth our creative spirit to act in some way. It routinely provides experience to which we need to creatively react. Having a human body and the needs of the body force us into relationship with others in some way. But what is most intriguing is that we can call forth our own creative spirit by project outward a concept that we think is real. There is the old statement of people "chasing rainbows looking for the pot of goal at the end of the rainbow." They can spend a lifetime looking for something that does not exist. Yet, it is looking for something that does not exist is what creation is all about - to bring into existence not previously seen or experienced. Many seek a beloved or that perfect soul mate to give them what they seek. Others see what they seek beyond what a physical individual can provided and seek the Beloved. They seek something, someone as intimate as the beloved but goes well past what a physical beloved can provided. They seek something of divine power and origins. In this regard, many think it is a relationship with God so they seek God. But in seeking God, because of the quirk that all concepts of God are created by a human being, it is an illusion. It does not and cannot describe what it reports to describe. In seeking God, we create a separation within our being and from Creation itself for God cannot do what we desire. Alternatively said, our mind and what we think and believe is not providing us what we desire. So we turn to God to give us what mind cannot. But God is a construct of our mind. So in the end, we are looking to mind which we already know cannot give what we desire. On this point, we do not need to look outward. All that we need is provided within. If we go within to see what gives us life, gives a passion for life and a fullness of being. In dong so, we will find that inner satisfaction that never runs dry. We can also find Heaven, find Nirvana and the infinity of our being.
