The concept and principle of "look to nature" is about looking to nature and see what nature reveals about how Creation works.

Background

The origins of the concept and principle to look to Nature began with a questions asked in the spring of 1973. The question was, "Is there a way to view Creation and how Creation works such that whatever one believes they can have an experience of that belief such that they will point to the experience of that belief as the proof that what they believe is true and then use that experience as the basis of being able to go to war and kill another?" The key to finding such a view of Creation was provided about a year and a half later in learning to look to Nature to see what it reveals about how Creation works. In time, such a way to view Creation was found and is found within the Releasing Your Unlimited Creativity material.

At first glance, the concept and principle of looking to nature to understand how Creation works should be obvious and straight forward. However, relative to humanity’s desire to understand Creation, nothing is father from the truth. Rather, what traditionally has been done is that humans observe a part of nature and then create some mental picture, whether it be a myth or theory about Creation. It then believes the myth or theory it creates rather than remaining open to further information from Creation about Creation. Even science in its requirement to test its theories in Nature has struggle with remaining open and looking at new information. In fact, it was the issue Physicists faced in describing the structure of the atom in the early 1900's which gave rise to the concept discussed here of looking to Nature.

Quite simply, physicists had a model/idea for how the atom worked that fit or agreed with some of the data. However, there were observation in nature that did not fit the model as it existed. Rather that being totally open for the need for a new understanding, physicists had a mind set such that they continued to try and fit Nature into their model rather than finding a model which fit Nature as it exists. As discussed in the topic, "A contribution of Niels Bohr to Physics and Releasing Your Unlimited Creativity," it was Niels Bohr who introduced the rather radical concept for the time of using Nature to determine what the model for the atom should look like and not what Physicist thought it should look like.

But the issue here of looking to Nature goes well beyond Physics. It is to look to Nature to see how Creation works as a whole, both the seen and unseen aspects of Creation. The concept to look to Nature is introduced because of the revolutionary insights Bohr obtained when he looked to nature as to how the atom worked. For anything we desire to understand, we need to look to Nature to see what Nature has to says about what we want to understand. Some would say since the unseen realities are unseen, we cannot understand them. However, Physics has already proven that assumption wrong with its study the electromagnetic spectrum of energy and the evidence suggest sit is possible to explore the unseen even in greater depth as long as we take a perspective that allows us to see into the unseen. That perspective is quite simple yet hard to obtain.

The perspective that is needed, no matter how much we come to understand about Creation is to always have a beginner's mind. That is, not be biased by our own thinking and beliefs and our wants and desires. Although it is possible to have such a mind, the nature of mind and the way it is tied to the past makes it hard to obtain. The key is to learn to step out of mind and learn to play with what is, as it is and not as we want it to be or would like it to be.

Ways to look to Nature

It is suggested there are three ways to look to Nature and all three ways need to be used for anything we wish to understand.

The first is to look to nature for the rules of Creation beginning with the rules of Physical Creation. In understanding all arises out of the same material of Creation, the rule of Physical Creation provide a perspective of how Creation works. Although there may be addition rules for Creation not expressed in Physical Creation, the rules of Physical Creation will, in some way, be applicable across all of Creation. Here again, all arises our of the same material of Creation and the rules of Physical Creation are in some way inherent in the material of Creation.

The second is to look to see what Nature says about truth. When we discover a rule for Creation it works in any part of Creation. The rule does not depend on who the user may be nor on what the user believes about the rule. Gravity works in the United States in the same way it works in Russia, China or on the moon. Whether or not we believe in gravity, if we jump out of a window of a building we will fall to the ground. Physics has demonstrated there is no absolute reference frame or a place to use as standard of comparison as to how Creation must be. Rather, what is absolute are the rules of Creation not how they are applied..

What this means is the rules are the same wherever we are but they are expressed differently. Whenever we bring the conditions under which we make our observation the same, we will observe the same results. Vary the conditions, we vary the results according to the rules. For example, on earth, the acceleration as a result of the gravitational pull of earth is the same at sea level anywhere on the surface of the earth. However, on the moon, the acceleration as a result of gravity is much less because the mass of the moon is so much smaller than the earth. Nevertheless, the rules that govern gravity are the same.

The point that needs to be expressed here is the truth of Creation lies in the rules the govern Creation not in what is being expressed in any one moment. There can, and will be, an infinite number of variations of Creation and in Creation. However, the rules of the Creation are always the same. Under the same conditions, we will see the same results. Vary the conditions and we vary what we see and experience. Our challenge is to understand the rules of both the seen and unseen  aspects of Creation..

The third is to see Creation as a metaphor. A metaphor is a word or phrase applied to something which is not literally applicable but symbolic and representative of what is being described. For example, "a heart of stone," "food for thought," and similar type expressions. There will always be many aspect of the unseen  we will simply never be able to fully determine or even comprehend. But, if we stand back and look at the whole of what we see and look for the metaphor that is able to encompass the whole, we will begin to see and understand aspects of the unseen realms we never thought possible.

Here we are faced with the challenge. The challenge is whether we will use a myth or model for our metaphor. More importantly, are we going to hold fast to what we use or are we willing to allow effectiveness to be our measure of truth. Will we use our model or myth where it is effective and willing discard it where it is not or do we create a mind set and try and force Creation to fit or model/myth and make the same mistake physicists made in the early 1900's about the atomic structure.

Creative Relativity

Based on the results of the exploration of our inherent creativity, looking at Nature to see with it reveals about the creation process a knowledge of about the known rules of Physical Creation, and the equivalency of energy and consciousness there arises a concept about Creation which can best be described as Creative Relativity. In many ways it is analogous to Einstein’s concept of relativity and in many ways based on the application of Einstein’s assumptions about nature, the observed laws of physics and the Neils Bohr’s approach to solving the problem of describing atom structure.

The principle is that principles/laws/rules of creation and creativity are the same everywhere for each and every points of consciousness. The rules and laws just look different because of the environment or conditions in which they are applied. Nature is unbiased by our individual perceptions and what we want to believe about how creation/Creation works. It all depends on how we choose to apply the laws and rules of Creation for the conditions in which we find ourselves

The most profound observation

Probably the single, most profound observation from looking to Nature is that all arises out of the same material of Creation. The implication of this understanding is infinitely vast for what it means is all the rules of Creation for any and all parts of Creation lies within each of us. We may be holographic in that as a small part of the whole the image and picture of the whole within us is fuzzy and lacks the clarity of the whole. Nevertheless, the whole of Creation lies within each of us as do all the rules and laws of Creation and they are accessible through an experience of the infinity of our being. The question is, "What can we learn to access and use that helps us to create a life worth living and serves us and who and what we find ourselves to be?"
