The following is the vision/insight of the author referenced in “A culmination in thinking.” When he wrote it, it was more of a creativity curiosity piece. That is, it was written with the thought in mind, “I wonder if it this is a possibility?” and not really considering it as possible. But, as he come to learn in creativity,“You will never succeed beyond the size of your vision.” So, he decided to “think big,” or, rather, “dream big.” Still, the magnitude of the possibility of what he wrote was somewhat challenging.

At the time of this web posting in 2005 this curiosity pieces was a little over ten years old and much had unfolded relative to this vision. .

Some comments are provided at the end as an update at the time this was posted on the web.

Critical Mass of Enlightenment Vision (1995)

Background: There are several pieces of information which have come together over time and have synthesized into a vision of how mankind will be able to move into a new level of understanding and existence. The following is a short listing of the information.

Synchronistic Events: About fifteen years ago [now at posting twenty-five years] I saved Bosch's "Garden of Delights" out of a Smithsonian Magazine. Something about the painting spoke to me. To get a detailed copy of the “Garden of Delights,” Bosch is only one of the two artist books I have purchased. About three years ago [thirteen at time of posting] I wrote a short article about a group of people coming to an understanding of how to create within creation. This group allowed for the conscious "restart" or a new thrust of human development. In the book 777 the author has a section entitled "The Critical Mass of Enlightenment”. This article discusses the fact that there have been only a few enlighten individuals through history. However, given the concentration of people on the globe today, it is possible to get a group of enlightened individuals on the planet simultaneously - a critical mass. Most interestingly, the author of 777 used Bosch's "Garden of Delights" as the art to go with the article.

Observations: There are numerous events occurring in todays world as a result of the information explosion. Many things thought impossible are now possible. As a great believer of "as within, as without," I believe these outward manifestations also reflect changes occurring in the psyche of man. Some of the particulars: Man on the moon - man has final progressed to a point he can stand outside his world and observe it. The internet - the globe now knows no boundaries. International trade and dependence - we are truly a global village. Computers - we now know how to change the software in the hardware - we have the techniques to reprogram the automated portion of man. The list can go on and on.

Past Education and Employment: Having been trained in the physical sciences and having been employed in all facets of the nuclear industry; commercial, military, weapons and medical, I have a clear understanding of how the physical processes can be used. I have seen the uses, abuses, and waste generated from these process. It has provided an exception view into the process of transforming matter into energy. Being a believer in the “as above, so below” principle, this experience has more importantly provided a nuclear and chemical analogy for understanding a spiritual process which appear to be in progress.

Human Development: Much of my career has been in and out of training and human development. I have come to a reasonable understand of what motivates the individual, how he learns and how one can reveal and rekindle that inner spark that allows for the self motivation and creativity. To release the self motivation and creativity much of the work revolves around changing belief systems and understanding what kind of limits the belief system imposes on the individual. Additionally these belief systems can bind the individual in pain and suffering, and at times, motivating the individual into self defeating attitudes about life.

Metaphysical: A good ten years of focused reading and exploring alternative belief structures about the nature of the universe have lead to some interesting findings. A few of the more key principles are:

  • Most of the information converges once you get past the external form and “school” interpretation of the information.

  • God, the All That Is, or its equivalent is process; ever flowing, ever changing.

  • All is derived from a oneness. All is part of oneness. Everything is made of the same stuff. Everything has more or less of the stuff and at different densities.

  • Duality is fundamental to the physical plane and provides the tension for the manifestation of the physical plane.

  •  The best physical example is Newtow's law "For every reaction, there is an equal and opposite reaction." Also, everything physical is built of atoms which in turn are based on the dance between the oppositely charged atomic particles.

  • The best metaphysical example is the Taoist. Wu Chi is a state of the unmanifested. As movement occurs (process) Wu Chi changes to Tai Chi and a thing exists and can be observe, and duality begins and forms pairs of opposites (Yang and Yin). It is analogous to a storage battery. "If there is no movement in the beginning state of Tai Chi, then its Yin and Yang are combined, as in a storage battery for electricity. But if there is movement, then Yin and Yang separate and become distinct, just as the battery uses opposite ends of the pole to produce heat, energy, and light." (From The Tao of I Ching Way to Divination, by Jou, Tsung Hwa.)

  • Emotionally it is the same process. You can only hate if you have an enemy or something "not good" to hate. If you have no enemy or all is good, who or what do you have to hate?

  • There are a set of spiritual and metaphysical laws or principles that govern a certain set of conditions and will always operate the same way under those conditions. This is directly analogous to the principles of physics - classical physics works fine for classical physics type problems but it cannot explain quantum mechanical effects. (Note: The same way does not necessary imply the same result, e.g., probability)

Assumptions: It is not always possible to have sufficient information to "prove" a position satisfactorily for everyone's tastes, so frequently it is easier to make some assumption. Hence some assumptions I believe are true but may not have been proven:

  • Energy cannot be created or destroyed, only transformed. This is true of all levels of existence - spiritual, emotional, intellectual and physical. So if something new is to be created, some thing old must be transformed into the new form.

  • As above, so below. Conceptually there is continuity in the universe and across all levels of existence. Particular "Rules" may change, but the principle that there are rules to work with is still true. We need to know the rules of each level of existence if we are going to work on that level of existence. However, there are analogues which can be used as long as one remember analogues are never completely correct.

Note: It is believed, energy is energy. Whether it be electrical energy, wind energy, mechanical energy, spiritual energy, emotional energy or light energy. It is only in different form. However if the reader does not subscribe to this belief structure, for the sake of discussion, exchange the word energy with any word of your choice which would represent that ability to create and cause reality to exist and take form.

The Vision

For this vision to make sense, the story of man is seen as the story of a process to develop a particular life form called Man which is capable of being in physical form but simultaneously being completely aware of its oneness with the universe but its own individualized form. It is for each individual man to exist in a state of cosmic consciousness while in physical form. As part of the process to develop this state, man contains within himself both the capability and the energy necessary to achieve this state. However it is necessary for both an internal and external transformation to occur.

The internal transformation involves a change in the psyche which changes the way the world is viewed and the way the individual lives in the world and relates to other men and other life forms. The external transformation involves a change in the fabric of the universe which allows the universe to hold the "blueprint" of this new form of man. To change the fabric of the universe, energy must be transformed from some existing source into the new form. For lack of better information at this time, the fabric of the universe that must be changed is the same fabric or type of fabric that holds the traditional akashic records. However, this fabric instead of holding that which was, as the akashic records, it hold the blueprints and structure for that which is and can be.

The vision involves how the transformation is to occur, where the energy comes from for the transformation, and who is actually going to make the transformation in the blueprint fabric. The goal is to heal (make relatively clear channels of unconditional love) a group of individual (the critical mass) who will then take and use the energy freed by all the individual going through the clearing process (in any refining process there is always much material at various stages of purity) to remanufacture the fabric on which the "blueprint of man" is held. It is through the combined psychic powers of the critical mass of individuals that man will be able to take the next step (analogous to a quantum level in a atom - there needs to be a discrete amount available) in man's development. Although only a critical mass of individuals is needed to reform the fabric, every individual who clears helps the process because their clearing adds to the total amount of energy available to reform the fabric. It is possible a critical mass of individual forms but there is still insufficient free energy available to reform the fabric.

So here is the process:

  • Each individual soul has made a series of incarnations growing and refining it abilities on the physical plane of duality. In this process, traumas and other emotional events have caused these soul to "bind" or hold energy in a frozen form. The event or trauma which causes the energy to be bound is dependent on both the individual who has bound the energy and the one who has caused the trauma to occur. It is like a rubber band stretched between two fingers. Both fingers are need to hold the tension. Release one side and the other side is also released. That is one reason why Christ said to love you enemy. Without your enemy you would have no one cause such strong emotions and hold you in tension. It is this emotional tension which binds and store energy. Another way of saying this is human are like individual storage cells in a battery. All our life experiences to date have been nothing more that these storage cells being charges. Many are now ready for release. Remember Christ's statement about the harvest being great, but the laborers few. Five to six billion storage cells to be released and how many laborers are available?

  • Over many lifetimes, we have stored relative large amount of emotional energy. The holding of this energy causes the physical containers, our bodies to wear out faster than if this energy was not held. Illness is the direct result of this "wearing out" process. As one is healed this energy can be released. Physical healing does not necessarily release the cause of the illness. It is in the spiritual and emotional healing that actually frees the energy from the fabric of the soul psyche.

  • There are two approaches which can be used to free all the stored energy.

  • The first approach is a rather slow process where the individual is healed through successive healing stages. Much like making enriched uranium. One starts with a very low percentage of proper isotope and through a series of enrichment processes through the gaseous diffusion process one gets a high percentage of the proper isotope. Similarly, one take a individual with all their personal problems and, slowly, through a series of healing process (psychotherapy, past life regressions, massage therapy, acupuncture, western medicine, meditation, etc) one becomes a relatively cleared and enlightened individual.

  • The second approach is faster but sometime less controllable. It is analogous to the making plutonium in a reactor. It is a catalyzed reaction. All the components are put into a reaction vessel and the matter catalyzed such that it reacts releasing the stored energy. Metatheater, pastlife re-enactments, creativity workshops, strong rituals and the like are of this type. The people involved are forced to confront their emotional binds in a quick, dramatic fashion. Although there may be quick release of a lot of emotionally bound energy, it can be quite trying on the psyche. This process would not be for everyone.

  • These two approaches would then allow individuals to successively clear their emotional binds and with time, relatively clear channels for unconditional love will be produced.

  • Individuals who are clear channels for unconditional love will be expected to have some talents not routinely seen on the planet. The way they approach life will be sufficient to influence the fabric of the universe. When the critical mass of individuals are reached, their combined psychic powers will be sufficient to make the fabric pliable and malleable. The free energy released by on the individuals in the clearing process will then condense on the pliable, reformed fabric holding it in place and the form of man will forever be changed.

The Approach

There are three analogies that can help in the creation of the critical mass of enlightenment.

  • The Garden: use the garden analog to help the individual grow. Look at each as a flower which needs to be nurtured. What does each individual need to do to become clear.

  • The Orchestra: Use an orchestra analogy to help the individuals in the group integrate to the group. Each is a fine musician but each must be taught to play with the group and in the style of the group. As people clear, them must work together to "bootstrap" each other along and to assist others in the clearing process.

  • The Alchemy: Use the concepts of alchemy as metaphors and the as above, so below principle to develop and see the principles necessary to create the critical mass of enlightenment. In particular the gaseous diffusion process in the enrichment of uranium to represent the successive healing process which a human can undergo to obtain clearing. The nuclear reactor where the proper ingredients are combined in a reaction vessel and "ignited."

The entire clearing process will be able to use physical analogues to help guide both individuals and groups into what the next step should be. Observe nature and the processes we use to make things will provide the guidance as directed by intuition.

The Laborers

The harvest is great, the laborers few. The laborers are those individuals that see the next step in the process like scouts for a wagon train. Additional they are those healers who are helping individual clear. It is hoped as individuals become more and more clear, they will also become laborers by helping to mentor others along the clearing path.

It appears the 144,000 may be the number of cleared individuals needed to create a critical mass.  [Addendum comment: The number 144,000 initially came from the esoteric literature and biblical references. Without any other reference or intuitive insight at the time it seemed to be as good a starting point as any other. However the view of that number quickly changes as noted in the addendum below.]

 Goal

The goal is to build on the physical plane the processes and structures to allow clearing and manifest the vision. It is assumed this is not a lone adventure and other people on the planet are working to the same vision although it may not be expressed in the form described here.

An addendum to the Critical Mass of Enlightenment Experiment Vision

About three months later the author awoke with a clarity about the vision but was still in many ways puzzling.

That author saw himself arranging the pieces and put them in the cauldron (by creating a sacred space around the pieces) then light the fire under the cauldron. The pieces then interact, and out of the unmanifested will come a new creation reflective of the vision. He saw a ritual or "program" to set the stage. In fact many times there will need to do something to set the stage.

(Return to Labors) Conceptually the critical mass of enlightenment is about rainmakers. A rainmaker can influence at a great distance if he/she is properly centered. Question: How powerful is a particular rainmaker? How big is their sphere of influence and effect? How many rainmakers are needed to properly influence a particular situation? One, Three, Twelve? Something about twelve, need to contemplate this number. It is like starting a controlled chain reaction in a reactor. You provide enough fuel in the reactor then add a startup source. The amount of fuel (the number of rainmakers) will depend on the size of the issue to be influenced. So 144,000 may be greatly exaggerated or it is for something much, much larger that what is now being envisioned here.

If this concept were to manifest the author realized the was one who will need to focus on 1) getting the "proper" fuel [the rainmakers] to put into the vessel with no excess poisons [clarity of the rainmakers], 2) creating the vessel (the sacred space), 3) bringing the vessel up to operating temperatures [creating the passion to create - depends of the situations, may be part of the creation of the sacred space, or may be the ritual or "team building exercise"] and 4) add the startup source and pull the rods (this is the intuitive piece at the particular time).

The group will then proceed and do what it needs to do and create it from the unmanifest. The quality of the fuel is inversely proportional to the size of the egos involved. The purification process will be to reduce the size of the ego in each of the individual elements. This will improve their ability to be a fuel as a rainmaker. The ritual and stage setting will depend on context. The startup source will also depend on context.

An update ten years later (2005)

Much has happened since this vision was originally documented as provided here. There are also points of clarification.

At the time of the writing of this curiosity piece, the author had no idea of what enlightenment really was or what it really looked like in an individual and the actions they performed. If asked to provide a definition of enlightenment, he probably would have look to some published interpretation given by some teach or guru. However he did have a very good idea of what a rainmaker was and how to function as a rainmaker. His feelings on enlightenment was something more in lie with the rainmaker. So although he talks about a critical mass of enlightenment, it is really more of a critical mass of rainmakers.

In any case, in regards to enlightenment as the author now understands enlightenment, when an individual becomes enlightened, they would be seen doing whatever it was the incarnated to do. They would not necessarily be helping to “clear others” or assist others in their journey. Rather, they are seen helping others simply by creating freedom for others by being true to who and what they are and in turn, giving that gift to another. Those who incarnated to teach will teach. Those who incarnated to do something else, will go do that something else. For the author, to be enlightened is to first be enlightened as to the truth of one’s own being. Then in that clarity, one can seen the truth of reality.

In hindsight and in realizing our mind frames the energy it experiences based on the experiences it has, the Critical Mass of Enlightenment Experiment Vision as described above is only the best the author’s mind could produce at the time to explain how we create and what he saw unfolding. Yet it did reflect the types and kinds of things we need to do to step into the depth and breadth of our creative power and ability. At the time he wrote the above, the author really didn’t understand what enlightenment was at the time. Hence it was hard to describe a process that would create enlightened individuals. What he has come to further learn and understand about creativity and how we create does not negated the vision. However the vision needs to be seen metaphorically and as a possibility of what can be created. On this point it does not negate the possibility of a literal critical mass of enlightened individuals as enlightenment is described above. Based on what has been learned it is actually more of a possibility now that when the above was written.
