Cleansing can be seen as being needed in two ways. One way is that we view the world we experience through the illusion of mind. This illusion can be seen as a lens that is dirty that does not allow us to see and experience the truth of what is. As a lens, it must be cleaned inside and out to see clearly.

The second aspect of cleansing is to view our belief structure and what we think and believe like a very dirty and cluttered house. We need to clean out and flush out all the rooms of all that does not serve us and make room for that which does serve.

In whatever way appropriate, create a ritual and/or metatheater representing cleaning the inside and outside of the lens and cleaning and flushing all that does not serve. Remember, something should be done to address the spiritual, mental, emotional and physical aspects in some way. Also in the oneness of Creation our physical body are the manifestation of the unseen aspects of our being in physical from. In this regard, cleansing of the body can be symbolic of a spiritual cleansing or cleaning the unseen aspects of our being if our action are coupled with the correct intention and associated prayers and the like.

The use of an enema followed by a shower has been typically used to represent a both literal and symbolic cleansing of the inner and the outer. Used in this manner, the enema can also be effectively and powerfully used symbolically as part of the emptying and/or releasing rituals. The symbolic use of the enema in our creative endeavors is addressed in the Password Protected Area under the rituals and creativity subject heading. A note on the calling forth, death and entering the grave/cave, cleansing and rebirth rituals

These four rituals can been seen and experienced as one overall process. That is, one overall encompassing ritual and/or metatheater can be done which addresses all four. Our creative spirit is called forth and we die. In dying we enter the underworld and/or the unseen world where we are cleansed only to be reborn anew with a "clean slate" so to speak. Rebirth can be seen as coming out of the cave or the grave in which we entered at our death. The cleansing is what occurred in the cave.
