Pool Meditation Exercises

As discussed under the topic “Meditation Tools and Techniques” there are six primary ways in which you will see meditation used in creativity. The Pool Meditation exercises provide a a methodology to achieve the third, fourth and fifth defined ends. It is used to bring our awareness to the moment, to calm ourselves and/or insert and particular thought to manifest. They are based on the energy consciousness model and the way we can visualize Creation and our creative endeavors analogous to the superposition of vibrations. Pedagogically, we can visualize Creation and our creations much the way create ripples in a pool of water, the pool of creation/Creation, or the way music is made.

Meditation when used creatively and coupled with a clear intention can provide a very quick way to center, calm and/or focus our being. There is no need to sit for prolonged periods of time to use the following exercises. However, to use these techniques effectively, you should both embrace the power of your intention to create your experiences and be sufficiently mindful and aware to see and capture information provided by your intuitive guidance in response to the exercise.

Many see meditation as sitting or otherwise withdrawing from activity or body movement to focus inward. Yet meditation is really about focusing and holding our attention and awareness into a particular end. It doesn’t really matter whether one moves or not. What is importing is holding focus. When we realize that what is important is the focus of our attention and awareness, meditation can be experienced quite different as compared to what most have been exposed.

As you work with meditation and become observant of your life, you will come to see clarity of intention is an extremely powerful creative force. What you can begin to see, the meditation is not as important as the intention you hold that causes you to devote your time and creative life energy to meditation. Directing your creative life energy in a particular direction is where the real creative power lies.

An intention causes our creative life energy to flow or not to flow in a given direction in our life to fulfill the intention that is held. In this regard, the intention(s) we hold, consciously or subconsciously, is (are) a very powerful creative force in our life to create the experiences we have. To get some creative control over our life it becomes essential we understand both the conscious and subconscious the intentions we hold. Often we need to go back and establish the clarity of our intention before we being to mediate. The discussion entitled, “Clarity of Intention” and related discussions on intention found at the end of this discussion can provide some assistance in this area.

The pool of creation/Creation (Top)

The pool of creation/Creation is a powerful analogy of Creation to understand how our thoughts create our experiences. If you are not familiar with this analogy, it is recommend you read the “The Pool of creation/Creation” discussion before moving on for there will be various references to this analogy.

An inherent calmness in creating  (Top)

There is the belief that meditating will calm our being. What is said here is that the intention to calm ourselves through meditate and acting on that intention by meditating is what calms our being. That is we are exercising our power as a creative being. We choose to calm our being and we chose to do so through meditation. It is not necessarily the meditation which calms our being but the intention we hold. Of course, withdrawing from activity to meditate helps us become more calm for we are not preoccupied with all that is going on around us. However, if we are detached from what is occurring around us, there is no need to withdrawal. We can choose to become calm and become it - if we choose to do so.

What needs to be understood is that there is a calmness inherent within the creative process, there is a calmness within our being that arises whenever we align with the flow of energy within our being. There is also a calmness that arises whenever our creative life energy is free to dissipate in the experience we desire to have. The calmness we feel that arises in meditation is only an experience of the fruit of the experience of our creation. Alternatively said, we choose to meditate then experience the creation of mediation. The experience of the creation, in this case meditation, is in itself calming.

As our creative life energy flows into the experience we have, it expands into the experience. If we allow ourselves to have the experience without interference of mind, this expansion can be felt as both a fulness of one’s being and a calmness within one’s being. If we are free to experience the flow of our creative life energy into the experience we have in the moment, the energy dissipates and we feel both the fulness of being and calmness that results from the free expansion of the energy much like the river dissipating in the ocean.

However, if our mind is occupied and occupied in its own thinking, we are not free to fully feel the flow, our creative life energy is not fully dissipated in the experience we have. We will not feel the complete fulness of being or the calmness. There are two reasons why this occurs when our mind is occupied or caught in its own thinking.

One is that our mind by what it chooses to think is creating a new flow of energy, or rather diverting the existing flow of energy by, and through, its thinking. The other is that we are often attached to the experience in some way. For example, if we hold a judgement of some type about the experience. Then the energy is not free to flow but some of it remains bound in the attachments. This also can give rise to pain.

In meditation, when you allow your thoughts to dissipate rather than holding and/or acting on any though the mind stops injecting itself into the flow of energy within your being. As you sit unattached to what you experience you are free to experience the calmness as your energy dissipates in the experience of meditating. Although we can create this calmness in anything we do, most of us need to intentionally calm ourselves.

Establishing a calmness within our being can take us back to the source/Source where our experiences first take form. It is from this place of calmness, a place of “no-thing-ness,” no form out of which all Creation forms. The deeper we can create this calmness within our being, the greater the creative powers that are available to us.

Using the pool of creation/Creation exercises (Top)

The inherent calmness that comes in creating and the concept of the pool of creation/Creation in an exercise, is used in the pool of creation/Creation exercises It may not feel like an experience of the source/Source of Creation but we going back to that place out of which all of creation/Creation unfold. We do it all the time unconsciously because that is where our creative power life. To create is inherent to our being and our birthright is to be a creator. However we do most of our creating at an unconscious or subconscious level. All that is done here is make what we do unconsciously and subconsciously done with a little more awareness.

All of these exercises take us back to the creative source/Creative Source. We need to know our intention for whatever we choose consciously or subconsciously for it will manifest in some way within the environment in which we find ourselves. Our lack of clarity is what gives rise to many of the issue we face in life.

If we wish to use the pool of creation/Creation sheet of glass exercise to see thought time or into another aspect of reality, seen or unseen, we need to know why we wish to do so. Is it for ego or something which transcends the ego. Most of what we seek in the unseen is more for ego. Similarly, if we wish to see a part of ourselves, we need to know why and what it is you are really seeking to know about ourselves. Sometimes when we are faced with the truth we end up denying and repressing the truth even more.

If we desire to use the pool of creation/Creation insertion exercise to insert an intention, a wish or a desire we need to have as much clarity on what we intend as possible and know the intention that lies behind our intention, wish or desire. We need to know why we intend, wish or desire what we do. In whatever we do, it is recommended that we ensure that our choice moves us towards the fulness of being and towards alignment with the flow of our creative life energy in a way that serves us.

We are being of unlimited creativity. It is recommended that whatever you choose you choose in favor of expanding the depth and breadth of the awareness of your own being and your creative power and ability.
