Following the path of surrender

There is a path to understanding that is of great creative passion and enthusiasm and it lies within our own heart. It is a way suited exactly to, and for, our uniqueness. If we can allow ourselves to feel and be true to our feelings we will be carried to the truth of our being. We can find a beloved/Beloved in our heart or that is reflected in an external muse. If we follow that muse while keeping true to the beloved and what we feel in our heart we will align with the fulness of being we will find that we can be lead to the Source of Being that lies within our being in a most pleasurable way.

There is only one path of surrender but can be experienced in one of three ways depending one how we focus our attention and awareness. They are the path of surrender, the path of the muse and the path of the beloved/Beloved. The path of surrender is where we are totally focused on the feeling with no interpretation by mind. The path of the beloved is where mind provides an interpretation of the feeling where the feeling is seen as arising from within. If the feeling is interpreted as coming from, or connected to, the unseen it is often seen as the Beloved. If the internal feeling is seen to point externally it is seen as the beloved. If the feeling is seen as being cause by something external, that external focus is seen as the muse. Rarely are the muse the beloved seen as one an the same, although they can be. The reason for these three paths are the result of the focus of mind as to what mind thinks is causing the feelings to arise.

In any case, whatever interpretation mind gives to the feeling there is the need to become a detached witness: We will be unable to see the truth of our being unless we become a detached witness and observe our life and what this flow of energy is communicating to us.

The essence of the surrendering path (Top)

The path of surrender is to allow the feeling of the fulness of being, of what gives us life or calls us into life to guide us to the experiences we desire to have. In this path we look to see what gives us this fulfillment in life, and with life, and look to do those things in our life. Our mind does not interpret the feelings. We just follow them. When we find something no longer fulfilling, we simply move to something that does give us a strong fulness of being and/or a strong inner satisfaction as we can. For those things that do give us fulfillment in life, we look at what aspects are providing the fulfillment. We look to move deeper into those aspects. It is to move as deep as possible into the feelings that we experience and we to continually expanding our being.

As we move deeper, we begin to see differently and experience life differently. We find things arising exclusively from our mind, our enculturation and the experiences we have had in life no longer appeal to us. We find there is a passion within our being, our creative passion, that arises and pulls us forward to guide our life.

Often in surrendering to the flow of our creative life energy we will be driven to do things and participate in activities that are not necessarily supported by our family and/or our society. In this case we can end up following the left hand path. Yet for others, in following the flow of our creative life energy takes us into a deeper and more intimate involvement with our society.

Surrendering to the flow of our creative life energy is probably the hardest and most demanding path to accessing and releasing our unlimited creativity. Yet it is probably the fastest and easiest way. The reason for this is we are continually forced us to step out of mind and follow our internal compass as opposed to what mind wants and/or thinks about what needs to be done. It is the fastest and easiest because it is the path most aligned with the intention for our life. The struggle we face is to stay focused on what we feel without letting mind and its desires to impose itself.

The mistake most often made in utilizing the path of surrender is there is more than one energy we can simultaneously feel within our being. In any one moment, there are five primary flows of energy to which we can surrender that are influencing our life that give an overall composite. They are (1) the intention for our life, (2) the flow of Creation, (3) the flow of society, (4) the flow the intention of our enculturated mind, (5) the composite or resultant flow of the conscious and nonconscious desires of our mind. Of course there are other flows of energy that are variations of these five or a subpart. From a feeling perspective and the path of surrender, the choice is actually easy. We choose that which serves us and allows for a feeling of freedom and continued expansion into the infinity of our own being. That is a choice in aligning with the intention for our life.

However, we do need to develop discernment as to what we feel for we often enter flows of energy that feel good but do not provided for a feeling of expansions, and more importantly, a feeling of continued expansion. Depending on how and what mind thinks as believes it can causes us to align with an energy other than the flow of energy giving rise to our life. Surrendering to the flow of our creative life energy offers the possibility of being the most pleasant path yet it is the most difficult to achieve because of mind.

The paths of the beloved and the muse (Top)

The path of the muse and the path of the beloved are a result of mind's interpretation of what we feel. In general, although mind is involved, neither of these paths pose a problem as long as focus is maintained on what we feel. The problem arises when we believe mind’s interpretation and begins to follow mind’s direction. This will cause us to lose focus on the feeling and become preoccupied by what mind believes. That, in turn, causes us to step off the path.

The essential understanding of “beloved/Beloved” and the muse arises from the creative tension between what we incarnated to experience and the desired experience. It is experienced as the pull to the object, person, or attribute we seeks to manifest and can be felt and interpreted by the mind as though we are seeking a beloved. In remembering that our inner world is reflected externally, the beloved can be, and most probably will be, manifested in some physical object or person that represents this beloved. Yet, there will always be the inner longing for the Beloved if we interpret the feeling arises more from the unseen world than the seen. How we interpret the Beloved is, of course, our choice.

In many ways, the physical manifestation of this beloved is the muse. It only needs to be remembered that the beloved and the muse will not necessarily exactly look like each other. Although they are related, the muse will not necessarily look like the beloved because of mind characterizes what it feels. The beloved and what the feeling looks like when the feeling is interpreted as arising from within. The beloved is the best characterization of what is felt by the mind. The beloved is our mind’s best interpretation of what the energy looks like that needs to be experienced to manifest the desired creation. Hence, the beloved is the interpretation provided by the mind projected into the external world or rather what in the external world matches what the mind sees.

The interpretation by our mind of the feeling when the feeling is seen to arise from within and to be non physical is seen and experienced as the Beloved. In reality it is the longing for the truth and free expression of our own being. It is the free and true expression of the source/Source of our being/Being which is the source/Source of creation/Creation. However, many interpret the non physical aspects of this inner longing for the beloved as the Beloved, God or some spiritual entity separate from us. Looking externally for that which is arising from within, only deepens the separation one feels from the source/Source of their being/Being. Only in finding and experiencing the truth of our own being and becoming that truth in the world do we find the beloved/Beloved.

The muse is closer to reality as it is because the mind is not providing and interpretation. The muse is what externally catalyzes or stimulates us to act. It exists and is real. The muse is what externally will guide us to the Source of our being. Here the feeling is seen to arise from an external cause. All we need to do to ensure we have manifested the correct muse and remain true to the feelings about the beloved. We then nee to see what appears in our life calling us forth to live deeper in our own truth. It is to move and to discover and explore that truth of our own being in spontaneity and innocence of childlike play. The muse is the manifestation in the physical world of what we need to experience to manifest what we desire to create.

Surrendering versus following our intuitive guidance and body wisdom (Top)

One question that does arise is how does surrendering to the flow of our creative life energy relate to simply following our intuitive guidance and/or body wisdom. There is a subtle difference in surrendering to the flow of our creative life energy and the fulness of being as compared to following our body wisdom and intuitive guidance. If we wish to align with our creative life energy, we only need to act in the direction that allows us to feel an inner satisfaction of joy or bliss or we only need to move in the direction to allow ourselves to experience an inner satisfaction.

To allow the body wisdom and intuitive guidance to lead. We need to ask ourselves something to the equivalent, “What do I feel? Is there any part of my body talking to me?” Or we ask, “What does my intuitive guidance say?” Then clear the mind of its thinking and go inside to see what our intuitive guidance has to say or what direction it leads. On this note, it is recommended we filter everything through our heart by first asking our heart the previous questions such as, “Heart, what does my intuitive guidance advise regarding....?”

Following the feeling of the flow of our creative life energy is a feminine approach to living in that we surrender to the feelings of inner joy and bliss and to what nourishes us without involving the mind. It is much like the innocent and spontaneous childlike play of discovery and exploration. Following the body wisdom and intuitive guidance is more masculine in that we thrust forward by asking what we need to do and our asking creates the direction we will need to go.

It must be remembered how we ask the question determines the direction for one is a feminine path and the other is a masculine path. We can ask in a masculine thrusting way causing the masculine path or in and ask in surrendering way creating the feminine path. Following the creative life energy is more useful for aligning with the intention for our life and what we came here to do. Following the body wisdom and intuitive guidance is more used for manifesting an intention.

Of course, we can set the intention and hold the intention to align with, and to follow, the flow of our creative life energy. In this case, both our creative life energy and the body wisdom and intuitive guidance will then direct us to achieve that same end only the paths will be slightly different - one with a masculine and mental flavor and the other a feminine and feeling flavor.

Following the path of surrender (Top)

To successfully follow the path of surrender is to stay focused on the feeling of the fulness of being as a single point focus for our life. However, we cannot deny the mind. We need to learn how to use it to keep us on our path. It needs to be realized that our creative power lies in what we feel and our creative ability lies in how mind to choose what we do an don’t will feel. To optimize our creative power, we need to be open to what we feel.

The easiest way to do this is to navigate from the heart. It is to have what we feel and what is symbolized in the heart to set the direction for our life and allow mind to attend to the details to make it happen. We need to set and hold a clear intention to surrender to, and follow, the heart as felt in the fullness of being

In surrendering to the feeling of the fullness of being, we will find we need to let go of all of life that does not support what lies in our heart. This will include how and were we set our priorities and give rise to readjusting all the relationships we have. Additionally, all the issues that thwarted our creative play arise to be faced and addressed.

The distraction on the path of surrender are all that mind wants and desires. It is an incessant battle between mind and heart until we condition ourselves and create the habits to fullness of being of being. In any case, we cannot deny what we feel. We need to go wherever the feeling lead. Otherwise we will be moving off the path.
